In a fortnight we can all celebrate having survived our first year after the ‘April Fools Day’ foolishness by the BBC last year. A few road bumps along the way courtesy of Hyperstar, but we are still here. How will we celebrate? Lots of these perhaps…. |

Oh Mobson, be fair! We were unceremoniously booted off the BBC board, without a genuine explanation, on 1st April. An alternative board was created courtesy of Hyperstar which kept a few of us in high spirits (especially without the crazy moderation/censorship courtesy of the ‘Anna’ thing). There may be other incarnations but this is still the main one, which Caissier boldly created following Hyperstar’s initial inspiration Anyway, whoever celebrates such a silly date as 14 June? ‘Flag Day’ - what that?! |

What! I am being FAIR...without Caissier we would not be here and that is what matters - all the rest is history!!! There are other things to celebrate on April lst, so for that reason June 14th is unique and special!!!! |

Oh - spare a thought for Hyperstar, who introduced us to the flexibility and reliability of ‘Zetaboards’. What is a ‘Flag Day’ then? |

It is slightly sad that we were so grateful to Hyperstar initially, comments like ‘this is great, when do you sleep…?’ ... And now there is only derision |

Ooooh why the angry face! Methinks you hang on a very thin thread here AA! No deriding, no postmortem necessary - think we've said all there is to say haven't we really - yes, we were grateful to Hyperstar for a moment or two, but I remember situations of great frustration and tension .. but maybe that's just me! surely we've said all there is to be said - good and bad - time to move on ...that's what Hyper's done!

“Moving on”? Seems like our collective fingers have done the walking. But, as Mr X said “if you don’t know your past, then you don’t know your future”. There was certainly frustration last April, but also relief that a message board was being kept alive somewhere (and what has happened to the other runners?) for which I would like to express gratitude. Perhaps a bit of humility is needed, as I don’t recall ‘tension’ last year, frustration and irritation - yes, but I think we all want to see a MB running which is reliable and responds to user's comments I don’t know how good Caissier has found Zetaboards to be, but there seems to be plenty of reliability. Have a play with a phpBB ‘Bulletin Board’ and you will swiftly return to Zetaboards, with all the adverts too for the free version, for its flexibility and functionality |

Aren't youse'uns getting a wee bit ahead of yourselves with talk of celebrations in two weeks time. Some of us still have the St Paddy's Day weekend to negotiate... (Or, as we call it in Dublin, "Sodom and Begorrah") |

Well I'm definitely not off the drink and will be raising a glass or two to your Paddy's Day May-Cee ....or at least the following day, as its Mothering Sunday here in the UK, and although my grown-up children (I hate the words 'kids') are abroad, I will be celebrating with my 'adopted' daughter, her sister and a few other mums of all ages in a rather nice restaurant in Chiswick. I'll have to make sure I can get down Piccadilly before the start of the "St Patrick's Day Festival" which seems always to be on a Sunday! ..... http://www.molpresents.com/stpatricks?utm_campaign=Don%27t+miss+the+St+Patrick’s+Day+celebrations+this+Sunday&utm_medium=email&utm_source=GLA Edited by Mobson, Mar 18 2012, 10:30 AM.

Did you know,May-Cee, famous attractions over the world are getting in on the act whilst helping Irish Tourism?... One of Italy's iconic sites will be turned a shade of green on Saturday to mark St Patrick's Day. Greening famous attractions is part of a promotional campaign that Tourism Ireland has been involved in over the past three years. But the leaning tower of Pisa and Niagara Falls are new additions to this year's campaign. Niall Gibbons, chief executive of Tourism Ireland, said the aim is to capitalise on the unique opportunity that St Patrick's Day presents to boost visitor numbers on the island. "We'll bring a smile to the faces of people around the globe and convey the message that Ireland offers the warmest of welcomes and plenty of fun, as well as spectacular scenery and cultural activities." New York's Chrysler Building and the London Eye are among the famous attractions getting involved. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-17392411 |

I was handed a cookie yesterday by a lady who was painted green and dressed as a tree. She was advertising a new Hilton TreeTops hotel. |

Ta, Becky; I had a wee jook at that. The fuss made in the US is understandable, I suppose; but I'm not sure why it's such a big deal in Europe. In truth, I rarely go out on St Pat's night, and this year was no exception; I don't like crowds. A freelance job landed in my lap that had to be done pronto; so I just got on with that over the weekend. |
