http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-18868086 Am I alone in thinking that, when the agreed end time for Bruce Springsteen's concert overran by 30 minutes, it was perfectly correct to pull the plug? This was not a 5 or 10 minutes accidental overrun, it was deliberate and, I imagine, premeditated. BS is well known for this, he did the same at Glastonbury. If he wants to play a 4 hour concert, then start at 6.30. Promoters negotiate these things and, if they don't deliver what they promise, it can result in future gigs being disallowed. In my opinion, it was selfish and arrogant. What time would be appropriate, midnight, 2.00am? For gig-goers, it's annoying to have to leave to catch a train mid-encore, especially for out of towners. It smacks of 'rules don't apply to us', we're Bruce Springsteen and Paul McCartney, we can do what we like and everyone else just has to suck it up. Edited by rumbaba, Jul 18 2012, 02:07 PM.

Amen to that Rum. Until one has been subjected to this inane bloody noise it is hard to realise how mind boggling it all is. |
