As the original MC section is getting hard to access for some, there is now a new section. Please transfer games when necessary. I have made a start! |

The games merely continue on the new board where they left off on the old board. There is no lack of continuity. The old board remains for reference. Caissier has done this for the benefit of those who were finding MC very slow to download, owing to the large amount of data. I suggest that we give the new board a try without further additions to see how it goes. At the moment, it has: Literary Link Song Theme Game Limericks Film to Film Uxbridge English Dictionary any line is available Word Association Word Within a Word Word Pairs let's give it a go Edited by dai Cottomy, Sep 20 2012, 08:06 AM.

Yes perhaps leave it at that for the time being - if of course the slowness or problems with posting continues, we should all say so here..... |

I agree with Dai ..... ( )I thought perhaps, as the old section is getting groggy, when there is an addition to a particular Highly Testing Challenge (game), it could be put onto the new section with the previous posts pasted first ............ I can do them myself ...... ........ but thought everybody would be keen to share the burden

Yes, it seems a good idea for anyone wishing to make a new post on one of the HTC threads on MC, to transfer the thread to New MC. I shall make that my policy from now on. Ideally, of course, the MC thread should then be locked - but only you can do that, caissier. |

For reasons beyond my comprehension, the first post on those NMC threads which have already carried over to a second page reappears at the top of page 2. I can only assume that it will do so at the top of subsequent pages and that the same sort of thing will happen on other threads. Does anyone have an explanation for this? |

Um .... no ...... some inexplicable things do crop up. If you copy and move a Section or a post it stays linked to its original, and if you delete that the copy goes as well. I'll have a look at it - the number of posts on a page can be increased so that might deal with it. |

Caissier: The system glitch where the opening post from a thread transferred from MC is copied onto subsequent pages is causing the odd problem (for people that havn't read about it here. A solution would be to edit these pages, and substitute something harmless e.g. an emoticon. What do you think? |

Yes .... sorry Dai .... I haven't been following it enough. Looking now. ................................................................................................... I have hidden - on the original MC section - all games which have been moved so far. I'll put a message on those not yet moved (if there isn't one already)~ Thanks Dai ..................................................................................................... Hope that sorts things out. I've upped the number of posts per page as well. Edited by caissier, Oct 2 2012, 03:03 PM.

Caissier, I was somewhat disconcerted by the disappearance of the original Mornington Crescent. Are all those gems of wit and humour now lost to posterity? I'm even more disconcerted now, as I wanted to look up the OP for one of the threads. Is there any way to do that? |

Blimey ..... it worked! old Mornington Crescent is now in the links section but not visible in the main list of sections. I don't know why it worked, but it did! Hmm ..... can everybody else see it opened up? Edited by caissier, Jan 30 2013, 09:39 PM.
