"Front Row" (Tues) "Love Will Tear Us Apart" was a posthumous release; not, pace Mark Lawson, released "shortly before" Ian Curtis's death. A rare mistake by the usually reliable Mark. "Spellbound" (Tues) Miranda Sawyer: "Siouxsie And The Banshees changed the face of popular music". Did they? Did they really? Good band; absurd claim. "Hollywood On The Tiber" (Thurs) Enjoyable programme but no mention of a cult classic that is actually set in the Cinecitta studio; rather than just filmed there. Minnelli's "Two Weeks In Another Town"; with Kirk Douglas in one of his best (and less well known) performances. |
