Listened, yesterday afternoon, to another enjoyable edition of Mastertapes (the A Side) with The Zombies talking about Odessey And Oracle. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01p71gb Mastertapes ( the B-Side ) will be broadcast next Monday evening at 11 where they will be taking questions from the audience. Ray Davies (amongst others) is still available to listen to in the same series ...http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01p0fpq http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01p0fpq |

By co-incidence, I listened to Monday evening's B side whilst making a very late impromptu chinese supper - it was too cold to stay out after a visit to the theatre so I was happy to listen to it whilst chopping stir-fry base ingredients....seemed to go just right with the music - fresh ginger, garlic and chilli! John Wilson talked to Corinne Bailey Rae....mentioned her early gigs at Shepherds Bush Empire which is where I first saw her...I took two Spanish friends along and they loved her and her silky voice.... http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01p70cv Edited by Mobson, Dec 12 2012, 01:52 PM.

I enjoyed the B-side of the Ray Davies one; the only artist in the series that I'm interested in. I heard the start of The Zombies one. "When the critics make their all-time lists, it's always up there with Sgt Pepper and Pet Sounds" Really? (They made some great singles though.) |

I've heard the Zombies programme before, I think (or very similar). The band had broken up before the album took off in the US - interviews with Rod Argent and Colin Blunstone? TBH I am not a fan of CB's voice, that weird falsetto thing. |

Yes .... two fantastic singles ..... not familiar with the album. It's the Time of the Season favourite for me. It's a pity they and others let differences of opinions 'split up the band'. I suppose it's not very rock'n'roll to say ..... "Well .... let's agree to differ .... "
