I played my new 10" vinyl EP last night - Geraint Watkins - Mosquito Vol. 1
It really was a delight to slit the shrinkwrap and take out a brand new, high quality vinyl record, place it carefully on the turntable and listen through a decent Hi Fi . I got off to a false start because it should be played at 45 and not 33 - sounded a bit weird I don't have any knobs or switches on my deck (apart from stop/go): you have to lift off the glass platter and move the drive belt to change the speed. I think vinyl is the 'real ale' of recorded music - the convenience of digital media almost killed it, but not quite.
