http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2013/jan/25/uk-triple-dip-recession-gdp The ride is getting bumpier. Retail sector is already badly effected with blockbuster, comet, HMV going into administration. |

In the face of such news, instead of jumping on Osborne/Alexander/etc., the BBC PM programme sends a reporter to talk to strikers outside a Belgian factory.....With all due respect how many listeners give a 'toss' about Belgium's problems. The more I listen to the Beeb the more I believe that Cameron has told it that, if it doesn't toe the "Coalition Line" he'll close them down. |

Yes, definitely ..... falling over themselves to press - rather than question and test the Gov. line - "But the Government would say ..... !! ..... (repetition of simplistic party slogan such as maxing the credit card etc.) !! Reporting on the NHS has been very shy. |

The loonies have definitely taken over the asylum.....£33B (double it at least) to save a few minutes twixt London and Birmingham/Manchester and it won't be up and running for 20 years (add another 10).... £33B could provide affordable homes for all those in need, take all UK children out of poverty, etc..... The more I see of this 'coalition's' priorities the more I'm reminded of tin-pot dictators whose penchant for 'grandiose projects' takes no account of their country's needs.

The word's 'Nice' and ' Mr Osborne' are mutually exclusive. There is nothing, absolutely nothing, nice about this pile of steaming shite. The worst moment in his life (and subsequently ours) was when the midwife mistook the pile of slimey gunge for the afterbirth, and threw the wrong crunkled-up pile of filth away. I have scraped more palatable things of the sole of my shoe. |

Funnily enough it was reported yesterday, I think, that this H2S thing originated during a trip George made on a Japanese Bullet Train. "We've bally well got to have one of these!", he enthused. It was also suggested that part of the case for it was that it would help to make another runway at Heathrow unnecessary. However, unfortunately for those affected in west London, Heathrow will probably have to have a third and even, it was said, a forth runway. About George 'Evils' Osborne ..... when he was a member of the Bullingdon Club one of the initiation activities was to find a homeless person begging and burn a £50 note in front of them.

That is the limit of his economic policy, learned when he was a young arsehole . He knows no more now he is an older arsehole. I do not mince my words about this fascist. I would happily kill him. I would enjoy doing so and I would like to film the event. I did offer £30,000 to anybody that would kill him, but nobody took me up on my offer. Hardly surprising i accept, but I cannot afford to pay any more, sadly. But this was a genuine offer. |

HMJ, In this 'coalition they're all the same.... Nick Clegg, in a 'posh prank', deliberately set fire to greenhouses containing a lifelong collection of rare cactii. Strange that, when a man finds a police caution (received when he was 11) can prevent him getting a job, arson doesn't prevent you "leading" a country (even if it's to 'rack and ruin)... |

I find I'm spoilt for choice in hating them ..... Lansley, Pickles, Gove ..... GOVE!!, Hunt, throw in Boris ....... it seems, without realising the full horror, we've been taken over by a weird cult of destructive malevolent maniacs. Normal people, of left and right, aren't like this. Billy Connelly, a long time ago had a bit of a routine where he noted that when it's young gentlemen committing a gross public nuisance and extensive criminal damage, it's 'high jinks'. The article Lurks links to says .... "at present ... " ie now, but I've seen it reported as applying to his time and also that he participated in it. I wouldn't put it past the ludicrous jacketed charlies in the famous Bullingdon photo. It's also said fellow members used to bounce George upside down on his head and call him 'Oik' for some social failure or other ..... not being the son of a duke maybe.. I can believe people could be that nasty but I'd expect them to be a bit discrete about it. Edited by caissier, Jan 30 2013, 07:31 PM.

He didn't go to Eton, I believe - some other public school, hence the 'oik' tag |

They are still at it ..... from the Independent this weekend ...... "Dani Dayan, chairman of the Israeli settlers' council, Yesha, was at the union to debate the question, "Settlers: War Criminals or Patriots?" for a debate to be broadcast on al-Jazeera in April. Al-Jazeera had hired security guards, but Dayan was booed once and given polite applause. Not all students have immersed themselves in this debate. The Oxford Student newspaper reported that a member of the Bullingdon Club was fined for setting off a firework at a nightclub earlier this month. According to the paper, the student was accepted into the club after an initiation ceremony which included burning a £50 note in front of a tramp." |

Apparently we didn't even have a double-dip recession - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-23090725 - it's just that Labour left us even worse off than we thought. |

At last you're acknowledging the truth, tick! But this story highlights the alacrity of the press and other media to rush to judgement. I was reminded of this last Monday when The Times front page picture was of Nelson Mandela and the headline was" The End nears for Mandela." As a statement it is true for all of us, of course, but with Mr Mandela still hanging on to life (as he's had to do all his life) I felt The Times didn't cover itself in glory at the beginning of the week. In fact, I grow ever more weary of The Times's style and approach and will be dropping it ere long. Sometimes one has to pinch oneself to be sure you've just actually read what you think you've read. Last week, for example, one article had "Britain's" where "Britons" was clearly meant. There are too many other similar examples for me to recall. Edited by tafkaj, Jun 29 2013, 11:09 AM.
