Ok, Soft Machine I get (1970) but why on earth would you chose The Stranglers (sans Hugh Cornwell)?

Edgar Varese's 'Ionisation' was ok and now Cerys Mathews is doing some bizarre old folk song. The Stranglers did 'No more heros' but there seemed little point in that.

Now Cerys is ruining Blueberry Hill. I kind of like Cerys but she can't sing for toffee :(

Laura Marling is a bit dull IMO

Yes, it did seem like an odd line-up that had been arbitrarily put together.

I was listening in bed and fell asleep halfway through.

A pity: I was actually waiting for Fred Frith on the "Jazz On 3" that came after...

'Golden Brown' was strange. The Stranglers just did what they normally do and the London Sinfonietta made a discordant racket during it. Varese, Berio, etc was fine but the pop stuff was dull.
