"True, and still on subject, why did you go into Science? What motivated you to choose to go into science, I guess is what I'm asking?

"It's a story both long and boring," Enkai said with a slight chuckle. "I guess, shortening the story as much as I can, I wanted to make people's lives a bit more easier with a bit of magic and a bit more electricity, me not the least. At first it was more of a hobby, but the more I discovered, the more I wanted to discover, and nowadays it's more or less of a way of life for me.

"Although I never would have expected that becoming a mercenary would be a way for me to fund it..."

"Well, that's quite the good reason." Elisabeth smiled once again, she then looked off. "It's weird being a mercenary though, I've never been one with battle. I only joined to help by healing, but ever since, it's been getting closer to a moment in which I need to fight. Maybe I should learn a way to fight with staves."

"Heh. I suppose you've heard of Maynard, the Bishop of Darkling?"

"No, in fact, I haven't."

"Hmm, really? He Who Has Been Kicked Out of Dozens of Cities? Tavern Destroyer, Town Killer, The Bishop Without Faith? The Noodle Incident Man? Leader of the Order of the Darkling Knights?" Enkai said, listing many of his titles hoping that one of them would ring a bell. There were many more names he could say... but then again, most of them had been quite uncouth.

"The, the Darkling Knights?" Elisabeth asked, her eyes wide remembering the name of that group. They were in the same city as her once, but the circumstances were different. Was someone in that group the one that saved her a long time ago? Still the name of the group was the only thing that sounded familiar, the man, Maynard, however didn't catch anything. "Sadly, I don't know him, I recognize the name of what he apparently leads, but I don't remember hearing of him, why though?"

"Ahh, guess that's what it is he's most famous for, should have mentioned it first," Enkai said, shrugging. "Well, they say the Bishop used to work in the Raustenian army, before getting relocated to Darkling, where he was made Bishop. He's said to be one of Rausten's greatest fighters - why he's called a Bishop I have no idea either - and take a guess with what weapon he uses to fight with most...?"

"By timing of mentioning him, I can take a large guess that it's a staff, and Light Magic, but started with a staff." Elisabeth said with a matter-of-fact sort of voice.

"More or less," Enkai said, smiling. "Despite using magic, they say he's extremely potent when it comes to fighting at close range. Uses a Torch Staff to blind them and then whacks them over the head. Hits them in the torso with his staff and then stuns them with a powerful blast of Light.

"I can imagine that they'll be pretty hard to learn, but with a bit of practice learning what works for others, it shouldn't be so hard to master your own style."

"I'd rather have my own unique thing, seems to be the better path." Elisabeth said, then shrugged. "Maybe one will come to me, sooner or later."

"Still," Enkai added, with yet another shrug, "it's never a bad idea to see what works for others, so that you don't make a grave mistake that you really could have avoided."

"If I do that, I'd might as well follow my mother, but I never liked the use of a Berserk Staff." Elisabeth smiled. "Oh, it looks like our food might soon get here."

"I guess that's true enough," Enkai said, laughing now. "And wow, these people seem to work quite fast," he said as the waiter began to approach.

"Not really, time flies when we are talking, our conversations must take up a lot more time than we thought." Elisabeth said, smiling as the waiter placed their food on their table. The waiter disappeared after saying "enjoy your meal."

Elisabeth rose her glass. "And as soon as food would come, my parents would make a toast. To the Gods, to Agatha, and as well, to science."
