How much snow does it take for your school to cancel snow? Mine will cancel for even an inch or two, lol. |

Sound like Kentucky schools. Depends on the road conditions up here. They cancelled today for two inches, but the roads were terrible. |

I guess it sort of depends on the previous years. If there was snow before, then the district is more prepared to deal with the weather. however, if the snow in the last few years was light, then they generally screw up once it hits over half an inch. i think they might even be being a little lenient to the students lol. |

We would commonly be dismissed from having to go to school if there was an inch or two of snow on the ground. If it started to snow, we usually got out. I'll blame on the fact that it was a rural school system and we had a lot of back roads for the buses to have to deal with. . . so, even if we went to school in the morning and it started to snow - we were told to go home because by the end of the school day, it would be difficult for the buses to get everyone home. |

My school back in the day did cancel for school but I didn't really know what would need to happen for school to get canceled. Down here in Florida, we have hurricane days for when there is a hurricane heading our way instead of snow days since we get no snow here. lol |

can't remember that it ever did here, think this year some schools actually closed because it was immpossible to get anywhere, it was kinda slippery and ofc the idiots who are supposed to put salt on the street have long term contracts so not enough |

We got over 4 feet of snow here this year, no schools were canceled. But a few did not manage to get to class due to canceled busses and trains. Schools have only been closed once in my lifetime. The reason was that the school had lost power and had no heat. Which was understandable, I wouldn't want to freeze to death for school. |

It'd have to snow here before I find out. Negative temperatures here are a rarity! |

I'm not sure about my university, but my high school was very stubborn about not closing its doors :P. One day, the snow was up to my thighs within 3-4 hours... yep.. we went to school on that day. there have been days we closed from nothing tho, so, its hit and miss. |

Incorrect. Kentucky schools are closed for a light amount of snow because of the narrow country roads that are not regularly plowed. In Ohio, they will put us on a delay and then cancel if the streets do not improve during that two hour period. |

About the only way schools in Vermont get canceled is if we get dumped on for 2+ feet in a 12 hour span of time or if the buses can't start. |
