Annie Blackwood had heard of the great Solomon Library of Del Linduil. Scholars and mages all across the Cutlass Coast sought it out to gain further knowledge. The tricky part, of course, was getting there. The young Half Elf found herself on a raft, heading eastward from Mudcreek. The raft boy had introduced himself as Daniel. Fit and trim, with tannish red skin and dark features, he looked every bit the tribesman that he was descended from. His fine arms moved the pole he used to guide the raft, keeping it from hitting land. Somewhere to Annie's right, she would hear a hiss/growl mixture. "Just Alligators." Daniel said, stoic faced when on his duty, but reassuring. "We should be at Del Linduil within half a day." The air was humid and hot, and Daniel seemed to have the right idea with his choice of clothing. Brown trousers and his tan shirt tied around his waist in place of a belt, leaving his chest exposed. Annie nodded. "I can handle a Alligator or two. I just wish it wasn't so hot and humid." She shrugged. "Oh well, it is what it is." Annie was excited to see the Great Library. She might not find any info on her parents there, but the knowledge she could get there could make her search much easier. |

Daniel chuckled. "You can handle an Alligator?" he echoed, moving his arms and guiding the raft further down it's path. "What exactly do you do, by the way? You must have a fine job." He said as much because of how expensive it was to get onto his raft. 3 Silver Coins for a small trip through the marsh. All in all, Annie had 4 Gold left, with 7 silver coins and 3 bronze. Annie giggled a bit. "Well, if you must know, I am a Mage. I was the apprentice of my adopted father since I was little, but sadly he passed away recently. What I have right now is what he left to me on his passing. I'm on my way to The Great Library to see if I can learn anything helpful to my craft." |

"Oh, the Library of Solomon." he said in a conversational tone. "We should be there shortly, to Del Linduil. And once you get there...I believe you make your way south east through the city. I've seen it once. It's just past the docks and overlooking the sea-." He was cut off when something large swam under their little raft. It was hard to see exactly what it was, but it left ripples in the water and an undertow that sent the raft sliding sideways. There were a few Alligators in the water that fled to the banks of the beach. Those beasts were quite large, but whatever had just passed under them had scared them out of the water. |

Annie nodded. "Thanks! I'll remember that." She said, just before something huge swam under the raft. Looking at the shadow of whatever it was in the water, that was NOT a simple alligator. "So... Are Alligators the only things to be worried about around here?" |

The raft rocked back and forth, and Daniel looked a bit nervous, but composed. "I've only felt something like this 2 other times on the raft. There are giant and nameless things under these waters. Best try not to splash the water at all and continue." he told her, but he took the pole out of the water so as not to disturb the...thing moving below. They seemed to be stranded at the moment. He voiced as much to her. Perhaps Annie could use some spell to speed their way. Maybe with some water magic or a burst of wind?

Annie frowned. This was not what she was wanting to deal with. "You got anything we can use as a sail? I can use a wind spell to push us even if you don't, but with a sail it will be more efficient." She said, already using hand motions to channel the spell. |

He lifted his hands up helpless, giving a guilty smile. "I just use the pole. I've done it the past few years..." he said, before looking up at the tree canopy above them. Huge leaves that were almost shield shaped had formed from the branches. "Can you see if you can snatch one of them up with a spell? One looks big enough to help a bit. I could attach it to the raft." |

Looking at the leaf in question, Annie replied "I think I can manage that, hold on." she begins gesturing, making the stem of the leaf freeze. Then she sent a ice shard through the frozen stem to break the leaf off, and guided it down to his hands with wind. |

The leaf fell from it's severed stem, into Daniel's waiting hands. He grinned as he caught it before trying to find a place to strap it onto. "Aw crap." he said, realizing the raft was too simple for that. With a shrug, he held up the leaf and braced his legs so he wouldn't slip into the water. All that he waited for now was a matter of magical wind. "Well, let's see how this goes." he said to her, doing his best to be confident.

"Alright, here goes! I'll try and keep it slow and steady." Annie said as she cast her magic, making the wind pick up around the raft. She keep it slow enough that Daniel wouldn't get blown off. |

The raft started skimming over the water eastward, with Daniel swaying dangerous from side to side, but ultimately keeping balance. Soon the leaf slipped from his fingers, and he nearly toppled into the water before catching his foot on the edge of the water. Thankfully they had moved far enough downriver to be out from floating over the huge creature. Daniel wiped the sweat from his brow and grabbed his pole again. "Shouldn't be too much longer if there's no more trouble." he said. |

Annie nodded. "Good. I think I have had enough of swamps for the moment myself. Tell you what, I'll give you a bit of a bonus when we get there, for the trouble." She then sat down on the raft, and stared off in the direction they were headed. |

Daniel seemed pretty pleased from that, and within a few hours they made their way into a larger river with water that smelled of salt and the sea. Looming over the treetops was the magnificent city of Del Linduil. It was truly a sight to behold. Even from so far away from the center of the city, she could make out silver and marble buildings with exquisite curved designs towering, looming over the populace in a display of Elven might. Daniel placed the pole in the water strategically to keep it going the right direction, before they skimmed into another smaller river that led to docks brightly lit from the sun. Soon, the wooden raft bumped into its space. |
