The coastline waters shimmered from the sun's rays, not a cloud in the sky to block the heat. Good thing the crew had the spray of the sea and were... very scantily clad. To the crew's left, they saw the distant shore of the Southland. High cliffs and mountains blanketed by green and tropical trees. To their right was the open ocean, as far as the eye can see. And as far as anyone knew, it was never ending. Rogello the Captain stood at the wheel, hands behind his back as he watched his crew perform their daily work. They were heading to the famed Islands of Gabor, a popular place for Pirates to ambush merchant vessels. Unfortunately, it was also a hotspot for island and sea monsters. The Captain had informed them it was high time they got a large haul. He was a bit eccentric, with a red tricone hat and red frock coat over linen, with comfortable brown trousers and carrying the cutlass he calls "Striker." The black bearded man often joked and laughed with the crew, listening to their ideas. He seemed quite Jolly at times. Still, the ship was sailing smoothly now and the crew had time to mingle with one another or speak to the Captain. Edited by POOHEAD189, Jul 17 2014, 04:55 AM.

Tyrial stood by the captain all the same as was his role as first mate, relaying any orders to the crew and micromanaging. The tail of his midnight coat billowing in the wind as he held a hand on the hilt of his cutlass while he thought about the coming voyage. The big score in question was a big risk, especially with a relatively new crew like this one. If you can't read your own men, reading the enemy is even harder. Worth the risk though, Tyrial had missed the thrill of a great heist. Tyial had sailed with Rogello long enough to appreciate his quirks and eccentricities. At the very least, he had concluded he was not an incompetent to stand at the ship's head. Compared to his former captain though, the man was a joke. Edited by Mistriousfrog, Jul 17 2014, 05:16 AM.

Kendrick sat in a cross-legged position meditating. Now that he was done with his role as navigator, he could focus on what was really important, training. He cleared his mind of all thoughts and emotions, relaxing his body and not moving an inch inhaling and exhaling in measured amounts on a specific rhythym. Although his gaze was unfocused, he was very much aware of his entire body and the surrounding area. He did not care about whatever big haul the captain had promised, although the chance to take down a beast of the deep seemed promising. |

Puddin' was sitting next to Kendrick about 10 ft away, and Woodfoot was leaning over his shoulder. They were watching Kendrick meditate, and there was on hell of a dead look on her face. "Ugh, when he said he wanted to train I didn't know he meant this" She scratches the ape's head and walks away from the two. With everything in working order, there wasn't too much need for her. We'll just pretend she's much use to begin with. She walks up to the captain and Rogella. He was rather likable to say the least. Woodfoot found he was fun to be around. He lead like a member of the team, not one above the team, and it made her feel important. Although, all that pales in comparison to the man next to him. "So sea monsters? Obviously I'm no good against that with swords, so I was wondering if there was a spare ballista I could use against them" Edited by Rasen, Jul 17 2014, 05:53 AM.

Kaz, meanwhile, was by himself, enjoying a smoke he made himself as he listened to the crew and looked at the ocean. The promise of new experiences and adventure brought him here, and, so far, he had nothing of that. In oe hand he was glad, it meant the crew wasn't fully incompetent, but in the other hand, it was kinda boring not having something to do. He guessed he should should see what the Captain planned to do, since so far, he was not able to understand the man. |

As the lower crew members scrubbed the deck and adjusted ropes, Rogello gazed over at Woodfoot, and gave a smile that showed his gold teeth. "Ye think yer a good shot with the bolter, eh?" he asked her, meaning the 8 ballistas set on pedestals, 4 on the right and 4 on the left. He chuckled. "Aye, ye can use one. We'll need a good shot where we're going. Our future is filled with Gold and Women!..." he looked to Woodfoot. "...And men. HAHAHA" Rogelle then riverdanced his way across the raised deck, and amazingly, down the stairs. His feet worked in a blur with his hands on his hips, but he moved only as fast as he might normally walk. He passed by Kendrick and Kaz, before making his way to the center of the deck. "All hands! Gather 'round!" he called, raising a hand in the air. He then blinked, and looked over at Kendrick who was meditating right by him. "Sorry fer yellin' in yer ear mate." Tyrial quickly interjected when Rogello offered Woodfoot a try on the ballister. History had shown this was a terrible idea to be avoided if at all possible. "Might want to rethink lettin' her near the ballister Cap. Back on the Marauder we didn't have a lot of rules, but one of them was that she doesn't go near the ranged weapons. I'll spare you the why, just trust me on it." When Rogello danced away Tyrial just rolled his eyes and grabbed the wheel himself. It was unlikely it would be needed but the overcautious pirate in him always tried to make sure there was someone at the wheel. |

Kendrick exhaled forcefully n reply to the captain in a way that felt dismissive, yet not aggressive. Rogello yelling right next to him bothered him not. And even if it had, it would be such a minor offense that if he had gotten upset, it would be a clear sign that he needed more training on self control. As it was, the monk stands up and crosses his arms silently. |

WoodFoot sighs, "I'll never get better without trying...but maybe sea monster isn't the time for trying." She goes to follow the Captain, but stops and looks at Tyrial standing at the wheel. After a moment she skips the rest of the distance, hopping onto Puddin's shoulders. "Captain on deck~" |

Kaz finished his cigarrete and walked towards the group. He could only imagine what was about to happen, probably an inspirational speech from the Captain, most likely he was goingto state their plans of action... Or he was just going to be as random as ever. He wasn't exactly sure how the Captain's mind worked so far. But anyways, whatever he had to say was going to be more entretaining than smoking and looking to the water. |

Rogello nodded at Tyrial's advice. He placed a hand on the first mate's shoulder and assured him he'd let Woodfoot practice first if she was ever to do it. After the riverdance, Rogello placed his fists on his hips and narrowed his eyes. Not in a threatening way, more considering than anything. He gave each of them a look before he started. "Aye, well. As ye all know, we be heading to the Islands of Gabor. No doubt ye 'eard, but the stories say it was once a nation of great wealth that offended Solaris, lady of the seas. And as anyone'd guess, she sunk most of the nation. Only the strongest monsters managed to survive and swim from the depths, and they now guard treasures that'd make ye wet yerself. ANYWAY, we've many opportunities here now that winter is done with. So I'll put it to a vote. Do we lie in wait along the northern half of the Islands fer passing vessels to attack, or do we scour the isles fer treasure?"

"We're pirates cap. the sea is our home and none are stronger than us here." It was a little arrogant a response, but Tyrial knew sailing better than traveling by land or dealing with land in general. Besides, looking around for some cache on land could take forever and they could find nothing. At least they knew sailors would have some booty. |

"If we acquired the treasure from the isles directly, our reputation and wealth would both skyrocket dramatically. We have more to gain from that then merely sitting and waiting for passing ships." Not to mention, if they ran into monsters, it'd be a good chance to get stronger. Learn how to adapt to more enemies. The latter was Kendrick's primary motivation, but if he had brought that up, the others would likely be less willing to go along with this plan. |

"Hrmm" What to do there. She is more comfortable on land, but fighting monsters sounds intimidating. It's also unpredictable. Against a ship, they have a gameplan, it's battle tested and works most of the time. As long as they don't run into a monsterous magic user, there's almost guaranteed profit, even if it's small. Fight unknown strong enemies for possible mass reward, or fight more of the same for more of the same reward? "We shouldn't take unnecessary risks. Maybe we can hit the islands after we know more about it. Send a small scouting party?" |

Kaz wondered if the wet pun was intended or not, but that wasn't the question at hand. "I agree. We should send a scouting party first at the island, at least to have a absic idea of what we could face. The rest of the crew could stay in the ship, and take care of travellers, so our supplies don't get too low. Rushing in, although fun, would be unwise." He said calmly. |
