| Greetings to those who are guests and possibly prospective members of this site. I won't lie, the site is not excessively active but it has a daily presence of members. There is a level of activity that is more laid back and that may suit some people more than others. If you prefer no pressure posting and social discussions and interactions then this is the place for you. Have a look at our available forums to see what we offer as a site. If anything strikes your mood, why not talk to someone in the Chatango chat box at the bottom of every page. If you like what you see then why not join the community. |

We've had a huge number of them lately, all with nearly identical IPs. For example, a few minutes ago there were 44 guests online. Anybody have anything to say on the matter? |

... I say there are two different options to this... 1) ________ (Jeff I'm figuring you got this one...) 2) Bots? |

Either bots or some guest opening a shit-load of pages. The former possibility makes it a little worrying, though not sure what to do about it. |

I doubt it's just the same guest opening a shit ton of pages, since some of the places they're looking in are hidden from non-admin view. Plus, the IPs are almost identical, but the last couple digits vary. This leads me to believe in bots, but they've done nothing whatsoever, including automated posts in the advertising section. |

This is the way to be more strong!

But why would we be flooded with bots now? I am sure this didn't happen before. |

my guess? Google spider. It opens every page you website has and makes a cache of it while also storing search-relevant information. It's common and very vanilla, other search engines use 'em too |

Other than that I'm not really sure what it could be, unless it's some sort of Ad spider. It's most probably a Spider of some sort, though. No other need to have all those pages accessed from one IP simultaneously. |

Just pointing out the obvious, but has anyone tried running an IP search on the IP adresses? |

I've been doing that since it started. No matches anywhere. The differences between them are by, like, one or two digits. |

Well, it really only happened to me once. But one time I was using the site, and after leaving any page it said there was a guest viewing the topic I was on and any topic I was on. Somebody said something like it might have been a thing with having multiple tabs. Perhaps that has been happening to others. |

What do you mean? They've been looking in places only admins can? How the hell is that even possible? |
