Definitions of Man and Woman

Huzzah! I'm still alive!

Anyway, I'm currently involved in a debate between the definitions of "man" and "woman". For the record, the context of man and woman is used as in "Marriage is between a Man and a Woman", however, this is NOT the discussion at debate.

I argue that the definitions of "man" and "woman" do not apply in current society, and should be abolished because with modern science and our understanding of the world, however other's argue that they do apply and will always apply.

So I ask, how do YOU define a man and a woman, and the difference between the two.

I will accept this and argue the most simple and logical point. Keep in mind that really, I couldn't give a shit less about things like this, I am really just doing this to waste time (because my suite-mate just took over the shower that I was about to hop in). So, here we go.

A man has a penis.

A woman has a vagina.

That is pretty much cut and dry. Now, I know that there are people out there who are women and are men trapped in a woman's body, or the opposite of that (I am going to leave out asexual, transexual, and hermaphrodites because they would have their own categories of gender, methinks.), but I don't think you can really be a man unless you have the bits and pieces to prove it, know what I'm saying? You can be one hell of a masculine woman, and you can love other women, and you can call yourself a man, but in the end of the day you are still a just a masculine lesbian with gender issues. I think you really do need the specific sexual organ to legitimately be a man or a woman.

Now, I am not in any way shape or for knocking people who are confused about their genders. I think that, if they feel they are the opposite gender, rather than the one they are, they are finding themselves and that is great. But they won't actually be that other gender until, say, a sex-change happens.

(On a similar note, being the one you said the debate is not of, I will say that I think gay marriage is all fine and dandy.)

Of course, I could be entirely wrong. Society has a horrible past of forcing concepts into children's brains and letting them fester and grow as the child grows, like parasite. When the child is grown up, all they see are the hundreds of parasitic ideas bred into them, they rarely see both sides. I can see both sides of this, just posing one point :)

I feel mostly the same as HTML. Your gender depends on your genitals. However, if someone wants to be the opposite gender and they can look and act the part I will regard them as such no matter what is in their pants.

Men have +2 resistance to piano wire, whereas women get a +3 bonus to persuade.

My definitions are the same as the English definitions. Sex is your biological birth, gender is your social identity.

I think to define male or female on anything other than physical attributes would be foolish personally. Personalities will almost always vary from the stereotype male and female gender roles and as such you can only judge based on something tangible. Males are biologically seperate to females. For instance they have an external reproductive system and it is this biological as opposed to emotional or cognative factors that must be the deciding factor.
Did I just repeat myself three times?
