Alright so yeah. I want to get back into writing, and I thought I'd open up my story to characters that come from the minds of other people, as people have done on here in the past. Basically, it's a low-medium fantasy setting. There are to be no magic users submitted, unless you REALLY want to, in which case you'll need to know how magic works, so pm me. Basically, it's sort of more ritualistic and FMA-alchemy style, rather than a fireball slinging madhouse. Anyway. If you want to make a character, or ask me to use a character you already have made, please make it fit this character sheet. and PM the completed character sheet to me, do not post it in this thread, please..

Would Age be a factor in this story, Mr. Bar guy? I might make a character if more is known about the setting but at the moment, I'm not in a character making mood. |

I'm glad it's humans only. I'm sick of all this high-fantasy stuff that's been going on recently. And I personally love the "ritualistic and FMA-alchemy style" magic. I may start working on a character for this tomorrow/today. |

Alright, so to help you guys put your characters in context, I'll describe the setting a little. The Feudal Kingdom of Serren has come to a sudden end as its ruler, King Feir II has died without heirs. Tensions are high, as no man has the right to succeed him, but most of the Lords of the seven provinces certainly each want to rule. And the Realm needs leadership, doesn't it? However, Civil War threatens to break out, with all of the Lords raising armies for conquest or defense. The Council of Lords had convened at the time of King Feir's death, and made an agreement that no Lord shall send armies across borders, and that no laws could be passed over the realm until a new monarch could be chosen. This was after a long argument, with each lord claiming his right to the throne, or his ability to lead, and what have you. Those who practice scrying foresee a grave time in the realm of Serren, and intelligent men who do not dabble in such arts agree. But what troubles some is not the prospect of civil war, or of a vulnerable realm which could be overtaken by an opportunistic foe; but that more and more have been dabbling into the mystic arts, and that more and more are pushing the limits of known magic, with sometimes disastrous results. The landscape of Sorren is a hilly, green one. Surrounded by high, nigh-unpassable mountains on the west and east, high but traversable mountains in the north, a sea to the southwest, and a great desert to the southeast. A fast horse would take three weeks at full gallop, stopping for rest and food each night, to cross the realm from west to east, and five weeks to cross from north to south, if the fates were favorable. The north is full of peaks and valleys, while the south is hilly, but less so, and a forest covers a considerable portion of the southwest, near the sea. The south is pockmarked with holds, keeps, and small towns, and holds four of the seven major cities in Serren, including the capitol. The North is largely less inhabited, but the settlements that are there are much more established than many of the smaller settlements in the south. There is only one settlement in the north other than the three major walled cities, it sits atop a high, round hill, in the central northern region. There are rumored to be mystical beasts high in the mountains that surround Serren, and in the great desert to the southeast, and far off within the sea, but there have been very few sightings within Serren itself, and those are mostly discounted and treated as fools talk and folklore. ~~~ Out of Context Meta-descriptions and magic

Until I finish the story? You'll have a while, I'll introduce new characters well into the story, and I don't even have the ending mapped out yet in my head, so I'm pretty sure you have some time. |

I'll consider any character you send to me. Even ones that use magic, but the explaination of magic I've given here isn't really enough to go on. Magic is very powerful, but it takes time, preparation, patience, discipline, and flawless execution. You can't really have a mage that does ANYTHING else with their time, if they are to be at all powerful. Sometimes people have an inate talent for specific types of magic, such as those based in a certain element, or which involve certain rituals, but they still must enact the spells properly. As far as restrictions, no, not really. You could write the king's long lost heir if you wanted to, whether or not I choose to use it is up to me though. Edited by Damon, Mar 12 2012, 05:26 PM.
