"All right, if that's the way you want to play," Medea smirked, and raised the staff. The shadows danced at her will again, and curled around the tree trunk. As the arrow neared the tree, they ensnared the projectile, doused the flame, and sent the arrow plummeting harmlessly to the ground. As she summoned more shadows, however, her shadow servant became smaller, then grew again as she discarded the smaller shades. She had not yet learned how to equally balance her minions, but she would do that later, on her own time. For now, she wanted to toy with the opposing team.

'Damn shadows, there has to be a way around this...' he thought. Leo had to be careful a wrong move would prove to be a problem. "Jake, we're wasting our time here. Come on we have to go defend our flag." he said. "I'll go ahead you catch up, she seems to want some fun with us, well she's gonna have to work for it then." Leo had a smirk on his face; he sprinted back the way he came towards his base again.

"The wind is strong today."As Zephyr said this wind blew around him faster and faster. It seemed like at the wind was slowly being redirected at him. Zephyr still stood one this tree waiting for the wind to gather around him.

Lairya had reached the tree holding the illusion. Showing a surprising boost of speed she dashed past it and stabbed her dagger through the figure. Her knife passed harmlessly through him and went into the tree. The still conscious part of her brain thought about what had just happened.
it was.. just another illusion. damn that kid is more cunning than I thought. Which means..
She sheathed her blade drew her bow and quickly checked the opposite direction she had walked for any sign of movement or clues to track him. She saw it. on the ground below a tree the bark had fallen awkwardly. She drew an arrow, aimed at the branch she would stand on in that tree and fired.

Time to act again
Meph used the moment the teacher ran away in fury to walk away, covering his tacks as best as he could with illusions. Once he was on a safe distance he let his body sit on the ground and rest, making his invisibility disappear. "Note to self... Get a weapon..." His back then feel to the ground too, and he layed down there, looking at the sky.

"Cassie. Pull back. Don't argue. If you find Lairya, tell her to get everyone out that she can." Suddenly, the warning siren sounded. Alot of the campers stopped in their tracks. They were confused. Was this a drill? Or was this real?

Cassie was confused, but did as she was told. "Clyde says we need to fall back NOW." she told the group. as she started back to the blue base, a siren started going off. "wait what? somethings wrong! lets hurry to base and get everyone out!" she said, now running.

-------------------------

Helena was still watching the clearing when suddenly a siren started going off. She almost flew out of the bush in surprise, landing right next to the Apollo kid, heart thumping and eyes wide. "WHAT WAS- IS THAT!!!" she exclaimed, catching her breath from the shock.

Medea heard the siren and looked around, shocked. Then, her shock turned to frustration. "I wasn't done with my game!" she complained, twirling the staff once in her hands. The shadow creature disappeared, and Medea stepped backwards. She didn't like the way this was going, and it certainly didn't bode well. Still, there was something dark lurking in this place that wasn't her, and it both excited and worried her... and she was rarely unnerved. It was time to go catch up with her brother. "We'll continue later," she told her "playmates". "See you around." And with that, she disappeared into the woods, singling out Meph from around her and heading towards his location.

The arrow pased harmlessly through the point where Lairya expected the kid to be hiding. She began to shake again and slowly her expression changed from cold and assertive to wide eyed and she fell to her knees. She realized what she had been about to do.

I almost just killed a child. How could I have done that. Am I really any better than those children of men if I will resort to such methods simply out of anger. No I gave into fury once for.. for you Cerise.. I won't do it again. I can't become one of those heartless monsters, I have to be better than them.

She sank down onto her hands and knees and began breathing heavily.

I can't look down on the children of men if I am no better than them. Remember, these are children, they aren't monsters yet... not yet...

Seon heard the siren, but noticed Lairya on her hands and knees.
Ok, something is wrong with this picture...
He walked nearby where she was, but kept some sdistance and faced away to give her some privacy.
"You ok? If you don't want to talk about it it's fine, but the siren went off and we need to get back to camp soon."
Seon stayed where he was waiting for a response.

Lairya wsa all but lost in her thoughts. she hadn't even noticed falling to the floor or the siren going off. It took the child talking to her to snap her out of it. She looked up to see Seon standing near her and suddenly she heard the alarm. She looked up to the sky.
"you really like piling up today don't you arty!"
She stood to her feet and the shaking seemd to be all but gone.
"I'll be fine, I'll escort you two back, but then..."
She extended her arm to the side holding a small metallic device which suddenly shot out at both sides to become a bow.
"the game is over and it is about time a real hunt started."
The cold determination had returned in her eyes.

Seon walked a small distance behind Lairya.
"Sounds like somebody really hit a strong nerve.... Good to see you're back to yourself though.... You almost looked like I did when I ... Nevermind...."

Her hand held the crystal key on the chain around her neck.
"Everyone has a past kid, most of them include regrets. so long as you learn from them it doesn't matter what you've done."

at least I think so... right?

"I wish it was that easy... Some damage can never be repaired.... or forgotten.... Lets hurry back...."
Seon then sped up some to get back to camp, some silent tears coming from his eyes.

Clyde looked around from his hiding place and was about to head out when Chiron's voice came over the game field.

"Attention all campers! Get out of the forest immediately! There have been some Hellhounds spotted in the entire area. We ask that no camper gets into a confrontation with these animals. Repeat,. DO NOT engage these creatures. Return to your cabin's immediately and await further instruction.

Clyde shook his head. Now isn't a time for cowardice. Some of us should face these beast head-on. And I know I won't be the only one who thinks so. I'll head to the Blue Base. See if I can find anyone there. Clyde ran towards the Blue Base, but not before he heard some growling behind him.

The group with Cassie listened to her every word and was off and running with her as soon as the siren had gone off.
