Well, Pottermore opened at last. I thought I'd start a thread where people can share their usernames, wands, houses and favorite facts they uncover on the site. I have certainly enjoyed a run through the first book, the back story of McGonagall was a particular highlight. It just adds that bit of weight behind some of the lesser talked about Characters, and its game-ish elements are fun in a facebook-game kind of way. Anyway, my wand is 12 1/4 in, Phoenix Feather, Ash, Unyielding. I like the description of Ash wand owners: "Those witches and wizards best suited to ash wands are not, in my experience, lightly swayed from their beliefs or purposes. However, the brash or over-confident witch or wizard, who often insists on trying wands of this prestigious wood, will be disappointed by its effects. The ideal owner may be stubborn, and will certainly be courageous, but never crass or arrogant" And I am in Ravenclaw. I always thought I'd be that. WillowSand209. And shouldn't this be in a discussion section? I'm in Slytherin... Big surprise. I've actually been in Pottermore as a Beta tester since...August...or something. And it didn't quite live up to the huge hype, imo. But I like the interesting trivia. |

SilverLumos21490, I'm in Ravenclaw (I thought I would be but it is probably my favourite house, even more so now that I've read the introduction to it) and I have a 14 and a half inch, unyielding ebony and pheonix feather wand. I must say I love the backstories, I found Vernon and Petunia's tale of love quite cute and I have even more respect for McGonagall than I had before. Reading the description for Ebony makes me think of it as the hipster wood... |
