So, I heard you like arrows

So I am sure some of you have noticed my absence lately. I know poo has, he sent a message that I have yet to read. Anyways, I have come to the conclusion that I harmed my laptop while moving into my new house. This has caused my computer's screen to be completely unresponsive. It wont even show anything at start up. I am hoping it is only a graphics driver issue, most likely a hardware issue though. There is a little light at the end of the tunnel, I still have my old desktop. It is missing a power cable, but that should not be much of an issue as I... can... buy one... I kid you not, while typing this, I got an idea. I hook up my desktop moniter to my laptop! That will decide if it is a hardware or software problem. I will have to do that later. I am in Nevada right now on a work trip with my dad. Which leads me into my second point. The house I am in now has no internet at the moment. I think that is all. I will probably be absent again for a while after tonight. |

Hooking up the monitor should work. If that is the case, what's going on in layman's terms is that your comp is running a two screen network, where the graphics are sent only to the #2 monitor. I've had it happen to me before. It's why I have a habit of running a two screen setup, even if I don't use the second screen. It is however handy when I do use it. |

Well, the problem I am experiencing is this. When I boot up my computer, the machine will act like it is running. However, the screen will remain completely black. It is not just the screen however, there was also no sound. For some reason, if I let is run for a while, cold booted it, then turned it back on, it would resume normally. Almost like it needed to "warm up". Now, after the move, the screen wont turn on at all. I am sure something happened during the move. So I am thinking that if I hook up my moniter to the laptop, I can get the screen to show up on that. |

Well, I actually sent the laptop in. The motherboard was damaged in the move somehow. I figured that myself, but I wanted to make sure. So I will be without a laptop for a while now. However, my desktop is working. Once I get net at my house, when is still unknown at this time, I will be on a lot more. |

I was wondering where you'd disappeared off too, I've become more actively recently and noticed your absence. Char said you didn't have internet atm so that's fair enough, hopefully you'll be back soon though. I also had the same issues with my laptop, I would boot it up and it would run normally except the screen would remain black. Poor Percy. He was the best laptop ever. And he was purple. :( |
