![]() A Chinese restaurant/pub that sells their own brand of choice sake and serves large-platter cooking, when all the food is put on a single large plate. The restaurant is large with pillars that supports the building, high ceilings with multiple small lights, a bar with stools that display most of their alcohol, and multiple wooden booths for the customers to sit in. Most shinobi can be found here unwinding after a difficult mission, or gearing up to depart on one. |

Saisuki barged in and smiled, walking up to the bartender and putting his coin purse on the table. Very little was left compared to when he had held it before Eladar; having spent a lot already and caused quite a bit of general ruckus already. "Drinks! As many as that buys!" Despite not being much by comparison to his former amount, that was a lot of drinks. Konoha was amazing. |

Enoki walked in, ignoring the other patrons for now, as her belly rumbled for food. She made her way to the counter, leaning on it ever so slightly, a charming smile gracing her face as the elderly bartender approached her. "Hokage-sama, how nice to see you!" he spoke enthusiastically, practically beaming at her. "I'm off duty at the moment Raiku-san, just Enoki will do." she replied, knowing this song-and-dance routine the two did every time she made her way to the pub. Raiku merely grinned in response. "The usual?" he prompted, and her answer was a simple nod before he disappeared from her sight, rushing into the kitchen. Ah, it was good being home. |

And suddenly Hugs. Saisuki put his hands around Enoki's waist and rested his head on her shoulder, "Enoki-chan~ You came~. I didn't I know I could subconsciously call people~! You look great~" he said, wreaking of alcohol. "Konoha is so fun." he said with a chuckle. |

It took Enoki a second to realize that arms had wrapped themselves around her, she prepared to smash the person's head in until she realized just who it was, her eyes widening. "Saisuki?" she asked incredulously, unsure if perhaps her exhaustion from travelling was now playing with her consciousness. "When did you arrive?" She hadn't been expecting him to show up so soon, not just after she herself had arrived home. And why hadn't she been told of his arrival? Why had he not sought her out? And was he drunk? |

He smiled at her and let her go, leaning on the counter next to her, "Oh, a liiiittle just before sunset. There's so many shortcuts when you go in straight lines. Told Lordwind what he needed to know, he offered me a drink, turned him down, made my way here before I realised a drink sounds nice right about now." He then pointed at a nearby table, wherein there were two stacks of bottles, one of five, and one of four. "Had four already, got five left." he said with a smile, and looked back at her, into her eyes. He most certainly didn't seem plastered, despite smelling like a brewery. |

Enoki raised an eyebrow. Lordwind? Before she had a chance to question this, Raiku returned with a steaming plate of yakitori. "Your dinner, Hokage-sama." he announced, and she smiled back at him. "Just take it to my usual table." she replied, moving away from the counter and to the back of the pub to a cosy booth, indicating for Saisuki to join her. She took a seat as Raiku placed the plate down before her, and she inhaled the pungent steam, revelling in the delicious aroma. Raiku disappeared momentarily before returning with a bottle of their in-house sake, famous across Konoha, and a cup. "Thank you, Raiku." she smiled again before he left the table to tend to other patrons. "Mmm, smells so good." she commented as her attention returned to the food before her, stomach growling in anticipation. |

Saisuki walked over and grabbed the remaining five bottles and brought them over to Enoki, setting them carefully down one by one before finally taking his seat in front of her. Her scent had not yet left his memory, but right now his nostrils were filled with the smell of the dish before her. It DID smell good. He lightly rested his elbow upon the table and his chin into his hand. He eyed her, staring into hers, coal to vibrant sapphire. For now, he kept his tongue tied. He waited for her to say something first, a smile on his face that did not waver. Or her thoughts. Those would work too. He wondered if she'd come close to figuring it out. Nobody else had in all these years; least not ones who lived to tell the tale anyway. |

Enoki reached for one of the chicken skewers, sliding off the grilled pieces and popping them into her mouth. This was the taste of home, what she had been craving the past few days. While it had been nice to see other areas outside of the Land of Fire, nothing compared to home. Once the first skewer was now void of any chicken, she set it down on the side of the plate, reaching for the sake bottle and pouring some of the liquid into the cup before taking a sip. Oh, that was good. Her eyes flicked upwards to meet Saisuki's, surprise in her gaze as she realized he had been watching her. Pushing the plate slightly towards him, Enoki smiled. "Want one?" she offered, unsure if he had already eaten or not. "How was your journey here? I'm surprised you made it just after myself, considering you had to visit Suna." |

Saisuki watched her eat. It was adorable to him, in a way. When she pushed the plate over to him and asked him for one, he complied. He had eaten quite a bit in Suna, but it was hours since that. He started to eat when Enoki asked him a question; a simple one. 'Oh, tiring, but nothing I can't handle.' he thought as he contently chewed his food. Then he flinched, and opened his eyes, looking at her calmly. Oops. Thanks to his technique, she probably heard that. No, she definitely heard that, he was responding to her, after all. He continued to eat, keeping his composure, but he did not vocally answer her question. No need to tell her twice, after all. |

Enoki blinked. Once. Twice. Had... had she just heard Saisuki reply in her head? The look he had given her after his mental reply was calm, but she had seen the flinch with her keen eyes. She noticed even the smallest things, that's why she was such a damn good kunoichi. She said nothing, her mind racing. If she could hear him, there was obviously a mental connection between them. Normally they went both ways. Which meant that he could see into her mind. Suddenly images exploded in her head, most of them memories of their time together at the outpost, others of scenarios she had cooked up in her mind about them. Her cheeks flushed. He surely had seen what her brain was throwing at her. She reached for her sake glass and took a sip, pausing for a moment as realization hit her like a ton of bricks. If he could see into her mind, he would know for sure then that she was a Jinchurriki. Fuck. Swallowing the alcohol that remained in her mouth, she sat the cup down on the table and looked at him. I'm assuming this goes both ways, then? |

Saisuki sighed a bit, finishing the particular skewer he had on him at the moment, and shaking his head. "Not exactly." he said, prodding the table with his finger, a bit bashfully now, admittedly. He sighed and pressed his forehead to his arms, which were now crossed on the table, "I've never fully understood it, actually. S'never stopped me from learning though." Now what? Usually whenever people figured it out, Saisuki kinda did them in. It was usually the only way people figured it out. A complete mistake could become his entire undoing. Plus, she pretty much said she was a Jinchuuriki as well, and Saisuki most certainly lacked that kind of raw power even if he had any desire to 'silence' her. He'd never once given thought to what would happen or what he would say to someone he didn't consider his enemy. And just like that, perhaps the obvious first step became apparent. Weeding through someone's head isn't something people tend to take kindly to, after all. "I'm sorry." He told her, without looking up at her. |

"Is it permanent?" Foregoing the small cup, Enoki simply took a gulp from the bottle of sake. She'd never heard of anything like this. The closest mind jutsus she knew of came from the Yamanaka clan, and that was on an entirely different wavelength. She reached for another chicken skewer, taking of the grilled pieces and chewing in thought. She knew he could now see her thoughts, it was a dangerous thing. There were a lot of of national secrets in her mind, things no outsider should ever learn. As long as he didn't try to pry things out of her head, things would be okay. Because then she wouldn't have to kill him. And she really did not want to kill him. It had been the first time the idea had slipped into her mind, and only because it was the only way to protect her village. Thinking about having to do it made her feel ill. And something else, although she refused to think about those feelings. "It's... it's alright. As long as you don't try and search through my head. A woman needs to have her secrets, afterall." she replied, trying to steer the conversation in another direction. She was planning on getting rather inebriated tonight. |

"No," he said, shaking his head, finally raising it and looking at her, though avoiding her eyes, "No, not permanent. I've already recalled my token." He looked to the side, it wasn't a lie, but he probably still figured what she might be thinking, "It's not a Yamanaka technique either, or derived from one. It's something I can naturally do, and have always been able to do." he told her. He then chuckled, remembering his earliest days just before and during the war, "In fact, I used to pass out when I did it to someone. I'm not entirely sure when I learned how to hold consciousness though; or when I discovered the fact that I could do it to many people at a given time." He held his hand out as if to stop her, or to get her to stop, "And before you worry too much, I've not rummaged through. When I use it like this, I only hear what's currently happening, "Surface Thoughts." In order to access memories or deeper secrets, I have to concentrate and take myself into your mental realm: And doing that makes you here in the physical world suddenly remember or recall these facts when you normally wouldn't." Saisuki didn't know it, but he had been describing, effectively, the skills that the Tenth Mizukage had, and that of his clan; which had nearly been pushed to extinction long ago based on their mental skills alone. Although the "staying awake" part didn't fit with the description of what the Seishin were capable of, and that trait was thought to be unique to the Tenth Mizukage. "And that's all there is to it." He said with a sigh. |

His eyes hadn't met hers. Not once. He was looking at her, yes, but not maintaining any kind of eye contact. Was it simply because he was avoiding her gaze, or because that was how the technique worked? She leaned back in her chair, letting it all sink in. This was certainly not what she had been expecting for this evening. No, she'd been expecting to get completely off-tits drunk, stumble home (alone yet again) and resume her duties as Hokage the next morning with a splitting headache. She'd been pleasantly surprised to see Saisuki here - to be honest, a bit more than pleasantly. She'd found herself wondering just how long it would be until she saw him again. Forbidden thoughts that were to be squashed down and left alone. "I trust you." The words fell from her mouth, honestly and bluntly. If he'd wanted to kill her for discovering this jutsu, he wouldn't have taken the time to explain it, answer her questions, he would not have apologized. Unlike anyone else she had ever met from Mist, she found herself able to trust him. She couldn't explain exactly why, but that didn't really matter anyway. |
