Keisuke smiled. His plan was foolproof. All that was left was to reach that cat, and lead it towards Korin.

Suki-chan managed to snatch a few pieces of chicken before the shouts from the one of the ninjas following her made her ears twitch. Noticing there were only two and that the third must be waiting nearby to ensnare the poor cat, she quickly bounded up to a nearby balcony and to the roof, making her way to the training grounds. f she could remain hidden there, she could finally get some peace.

"It's heading towards the training grounds. Youkou. I have to get in front of it. Its the only way we'll get it to Korin." Keisuke knew a shortcut to get in front of the cat. But it was risky. It involved going through alot of homes. He just hoped that no one would be inside them. He began running straight ahead, and he turned his head towards Youkou. "Follow my steps exactly! There might be some traps in the shortcut I'm about to take us through."

"Try not to break anything!!" Keisuke yelled as he ran through the first house. There was no straight shot to the training grounds on the pathways, so he was also relying on Youkou to let him know if he was ahead of the cat or not.

Korin continued to maintain the shadows along the floor and up the four corners while simultaneously tracking the movements of the others. They seemed to be getting further and further away. Before long it would be completely impractical to get it to turn around. Perhaps he should start thinking about working on the physical side of things so that he can keep up with them. His jutsu skill can run circles around any genin but he really should work on getting to be faster and stronger. For now he continued to hold the line where he was. If nothing else it was additional chakra training.

"We're still heading in the right direction," Youkou yelled. "The target is still moving toward the training grounds."

"Alright. Let me know when I'm ahead of it." The shortcut was almost done, but he still had some room to get to the training grounds. If he ran out of time to get ahead of the cat, he would have to use the rooftops again.

They had gotten to far now. Turning around to this point seemed wildly impractical. Korin decided to follow them. His natural speed would have no chance of catching them but he could certainly lower the distance they would have to travel to return to him. Retracting the shadows he decided to use a fancy method of travel to get maximum speed. Activating shadow retrieval underneath his feet he launched himself up onto the roof. When he landed once more he launched himself but this time forward. This was an inefficient method of travel for the amount of effort to speed ratio but he didn't have to go far and it moved him far faster than his natural running speed. Besides, continuing to use this method to travel strained his shadow tendril's strength and much like any physical training increased his physical strength weight training with his shadows helped to increase their strength. As he traveled he wasn't catching up by any means but he was certainly matching their speed. He just counted on the fact that Youkou could see him following.

Suki-chan continued running, hopping over the fence to the training grounds before disappearing into the forest. Once inside, it found a small hidden hole in the ground that was covered by rocks, obviously the former home of some other kind of animal that had since relocated. Suki-chan was much too tired to keep running, a rest was in order. She curled up and swiftly began to nap.

Even with Youkou's special eyes, there was no certain way of pinpointing a single creature within the vast forest that was filled with many. She couldn't keep her eyes active for extensive amounts of time either. Korin was the same with his shadow techniques. Even talented ninjas still had to rest their abilities.

As they made it to the training grounds, Keisuke stopped. He knew for a fact that the grounds themselves yielded very little hiding spots. As such, the cat had to be in the forest. He turned to Youkou.

"Rest your eyes Youkou-kun. We'll have a hard time finding the cat in there. It's expansive, and not even I dared to tread too far in there in my days before becoming a ninja. We'll have to wait for Korin. Because by now, I'm sure he is following us. We strayed to far from him."

Keisuke sat down on the ground. He was angry his plan looked like a fool against that cat. Clearly, the cat was desperate.

It wasn't long before Korin did indeed catch up to them once they had stopped. He landed after one last spring beside them. And leaned back a bit breathing heavier than usual. This cat was proving to be a big problem. He just hoped his squad was proving to be capable enough to locate it.

"Did you find it?"

"There's a problem. It went into the forest. There are too many animals to track the cat alone. We'll need to divide our search team. Now the forest is big, so it's pretty easy to get lost in there. If you do, climb the trees all the way to the top and make your way back to the grounds from there. This cat really doesn't want to go home, so we need to be careful, even if it is just a cat. This time though, sneak as quietly as you can. Try to make no sound, even if you aren't near the cat. Korin, when you are rested, go ahead and take the left, Youkou, the right, and I'll take the middle. Divide and conquer as they say." Keisuke, although he was tired, went ahead and started his search before the others.

Youkou sat down on the ground, a bit out of breath. It tiresome to use her byakugan so much. But at any rate, it was good practice. She turned to Korin.

"It's a sly little guy, huh Korin-kun?" She giggled at her rhyme.

She took a candy bar out of her bag and took a bite. Just a little something to help give her a little energy. She stayed seated on the ground, anxious, but knowing she needed to rest.

Korin simply stood and thought about what exactly the cat could have done and how to track it. It was too weak for his sensory and Youkou was running low and as such couldn't help. If it had indeed run into the forest and hid then their odds of catching it without seeing it with the byakugan were low. It felt was time he took charge and directed his squad 's operation.

"sensing has failed us. We'll use more traditional tracking methods now. Fan out and search for tracks or signs of a trail."

Korin probably didn't notice that Keisuke had gone and began a search in the forest. He hadn't ventured too far in, but he kept track of where he was by cutting into both sides of the tree. They were deep marks. He did this every 12 trees or so. He found no signs of the cat, but he climbed a tree the only way he knew how. Without chakra. He began climbing it at a steady pace and looked back towards the grounds. He didn't want to risk using a jutsu in here. Especially since he didn't have one that could draw the cat out. But what he did decide to do, was set a trap. When he reached the bottom, he took out some beef jerky that he had bought and set it in a clearing. He used a little flame to draw the smell out of the jerky and waited.
