Ikawa held out his left hand as his master had demanded him to do. He stared at the man still more curious than before on what the man was attempting to do or teach him. Excitement dwelled within of the young teen, he let out a slight smile.

Saisuki braided the thread into a ring as Ikawa gave him his hand, then he slipped that ring over his wrist and tightening it around his wrist. Next, he tied each of the five strands coming off of the braid to each of his fingers and thumb. He started to wrap the entirety of the thread around Ikawa's hand, starting from his wrist and coming down. Eventually, he began to tie the strands around each finger individually until all 500 total meters of string was wrapped up on Ikawa's left hand. It was left loose and not tied, and if Ikawa moved his hand, the string would come undone.

Saisuki sighed, it took some time after all, but not painfully long. "I'm no expert in it, but right now I'm going to teach you the skill of Shinobi Puppeteers. The Chakra Threads Technique. Are you going to be a Shinobi Puppeteer? No. This is but step one. And it's the 2nd hardest step of the three I plan to put you through. Luckily for you, these two individual things I plan to teach you are very simple to grasp, even Genin can do them, in fact most can do it if they just learned. The last thing I will show you will... well... let's leave that bridge for when we need to cross it. Master this simple technique, and you'll easily be a very destructive force despite being just a Genin. I assure you." he said.

"For now, what you do is using the same principle as water walking, but with your hands, more specifically, each of your fingers. You need to project your chakra. However, this will be somewhat simple at first, but will gradually get more difficult. Rather than just project your chakra out just like a puppeteer would, you need to project your chakra through those strings I've wrapped around your hand. It'll make it easier to learn, but you won't really need the actual technique in it's purest form. Yet, as a perfectionist of sorts, it's best you do learn the full technique to make this step that much easier. Do this until you get the hang of it. And I will guide you along this process to the best of my applicable knowledge of this technique. And I guess I'll learn it with you, for the sake of argument." he said, standing up with a smile, ready to show Ikawa what he needed to do.

Saisuki sighed after some time. He seemed to have gotten the hang of it, as did Ikawa. But Saisuki probably wasn't going to give this technique much attention himself. "Go ahead and practice with that some more while I get the next step ready." (And for the love of god don't give me a small ass post. Go nuts, and I'll let you have complete control over how the training went.)

Ikawa felt thread being slipped on to his fingers and wrist on his left hand, the length was 500 meters on each his. The string, while being wrapped on his hand, was loose and if he moved his hand it would most likely come undone. His training was starting with this technique and his teacher was going to do it with him. The young teen tried to not move his hand and waited for his master to do the same with his hand. He would need to focus his chakra into his hand in order to grasp this technique; he wasn't all to good with control however, this was going to take a while.

[marq=Right]Training Time![/marq]

The two stood right next to each other with their dominant hand out; they began to focus energy towards their fingertips. Ikawa felt the chakra flow forth; a small blue light began to shine slightly outward from one of his finger tips and quickly disappeared. It was obvious his focus was not enough; he would need to try again. The thread loosened from his finger tip and fell off; as he tried to grab it the rest fell off leaving a bunch of string on the ground. Ikawa picked it back up and began to make small loop holes to use around his fingers; he was determined to try this again. After a few minutes everything was back in place as it was before.

[marq=Left]Transition[/marq]

Saisuki was having an easy time showing off the technique he had just learned; he had excellent chakra control. The chakra burst forth through the thread, a blue stream of charka layered over the entirety of the thread. It was safe to say that the master grasped this technique quickly. He took off the threads and began to prepare and think of the next lesson for his student as he watched his apprentice try once more on the lesson.

[marq=Right]Transition[/marq]

The apprentice struggled with the lesson quite a bit. He was focusing his chakra into one finger instead of his whole hand in order to get the concept better; he would need to be able to get all his fingers, not his hand. Ikawa tried the technique over and over, it obviously wasn't working, he would need to relax and try once more. Each time the boy failed the string fell off. He plopped down onto the ground and attached the strings once more and tried again.

Time passed, even though they were inside of his head. The night was quiet and the air was still. Ikawa didn't give up, he tried again and again, even though he was failing. Even though he felt a little discourage, he continued to do the same strategy, try to get one finger, then two, and then five when he could.

[marq=Left]Transition[/marq]

Saisuki laid against a tree, relaxing, and watching his student trying over and over. It was best for the kid to learn the lesson on his own for now. He continued to stare and wait for progress to continue. The next lesson was ready for when Ikawa was ready to move on.

[marq=Right]Transition[/marq]

The young shinobi tried his hardest to do his best. Finally after so long, it was finally accomplished, he had got his chakra focused into one of the strings, even though it wasn't the full length of it. Ikawa pressed forth with his training, slowly making progress.

[marq=Left]Time Skip[/marq]

Ikawa held his hand out once again, five strands of chakra lay forward; he released the energy and focused into one finger extending the length to full. He gave a grin looking at his master. "I did it!" he fell over and laid on the ground looking up at the night sky, it didn't really seem to change. He sat up, grass covered his back. "So, what's next?" he asked.

Saisuki twirled one of the Kunai Ikawa had left on the ground as he watched the boy learn the technique.

He smiled, and held the Kunai loosely on his finger, out at him, "Oh? Got it, did you? Then show me, with your other hand and without moving from your position. Take this Kunai off my finger."

Just some positive reinforcement and to see if he could do the technique without the aide of strings. He only needed to learn how to control and bend the strings to his will, but if he really did grasp the puppeteering technique so quickly --- Saisuki on the surface world opened his eyes and looked up ahead. Three hours. Nice. --- then that spoke much more about Ikawa's learning capability than Saisuki's teaching.

...

This was potentially dangerous then.

Agnia would be, at least, so pleased.

Ikawa untied the strings from his left hand and then looked over to his right. He placed his right hand forward. His breathe slowed as his concentration increased, 'Just like my left hand, come on.' The young teen closed his eyes. 'The thread is an extension of my hand. It is like a part of me.' One of the threads began to form and glow with blue chakra. The boy's eyes snapped open as the string flicked like a snake, grabbing hold of the kunai and launching it upward. 'No, that wasn't part of the plan!' He retracted the chakra and separated it into all five of his fingers. He quickly sent the strings upward to catch the kunai in mid air. It grabbed on like a separate hand and slowed as he pulled it closer to himself. The kunai dropped into Ikawa's hand and then the chakra disappeared, releasing from sight. The boy looked stunned, he did not realize how he did that.

Saisuki couldn't help but to smile. This boy was a quick and adept learner. "Next, I want you to notice that Kunai." he said, leaning over and grabbing another one from Ikawa's pile. He got up and walked over to the water and walked upon it's surface. Then he crouched down dangling the Kunai just above the water.

"As you can see, this Kunai is a handy ninja tool. Many use it flawlessly and it helps in lots of situations. But here's something else you should know..." Saisuki twirled the Kunai once as he grabbed it more firmly and held it like a murderer bringing down a knife on someone. He brought the kunai down towards the water and stabbed it once, then did so a few more times. "It's only as useful as you make it."

"Which means, you got to make it more useful." Saisuki said. Blue chakra could be seen enveloping the blade now, though it was much less obvious than that of the puppet technique and you had to look much closer. Saisuki brought the kunai down slowly towards the water, and the water parted as though the Kunai was stabbing into it, yet it was easily inches away from the water.

"Zanjutsu, the cutting technique. By pushing chakra into a weapon, preferably one tailored to you, you can increase the cutting range and power of the weapon." he said. "I already know this one, and learned it about the time I was your age. And when I was your age, my chakra control was terrible. So I know it's possible for you to learn it faster than I did; four hours."

"For now, practice with that Kunai. You can take the threads off your hand now, but I wouldn't recommend that, as they'll be going back on for the third and last step. With this second step, I will teach you Zanjutsu. I'll also be able to actually tell you the concepts behind the technique, since it's one I use a lot."

Saisuki stood upright and walked towards Ikawa, "First, at least getting the Chakra to pass through the weapon as a cutting edge; I should be able to notice when you've grasped it. Second, testing to see if it's range is longer; this is by attempting to cut the grass with just your chakra and not the kunai itself. Third, testing to see if it's cutting power is higher by swinging a Kunai I have against the Kunai you're using; mine should break and yours should be fine. Whenever you're ready. It should be easier than the puppet technique, but takes much more effort." He crossed his arms and waited for the boy to get to business on this second part.

This boy was a fast learner. Saisuki was definitely imp--- he opened his eyes physically and looked at the sun overhead, a bit after noon, meaning only two hours had passed --- defnitely impressed with Ikawa. Saisuki held two broken kunai in his hands and dropped them to the ground. Step two was done.

The shinobi clutched the kunai in his hand. He was yet given another difficult task, it was going to take a little work, but that is what this time was for; it wasn't time to play around and have fun. He gave a grin, switching the kunai to his left hand, and placing his right hand over left. The young man tried to push chakra into the weapon like he did with the threads, the weapon gave a quick spark of blue light and went out once again. 'This is gonna take some time...' he thought to himself, sitting down once again.

Small Time Skip

'The blade is an extension of me. It is just like the treads, I have to visualize it. Come on! I can do this!' The kunai slowly began to envelop with chakra, but it wasn't over yet; he had to test this to see if it worked. Ikawa rose to his feet and pressed his thoughts into focus. 'Extend, cut the grass!' The young shinobi swung downwards, making sure the kunai was not close to the grass; it cut slightly releasing into the air. The training was not over yet, it could have been a flook. He released the chakra and tried again, and again, and again. He was definitely making progress slowly. Some attempts failed, but it only helped him learn from his mistakes. 'No breaks, I must become stronger! For my master's sake!'

Small Time Skip

Ikawa held the kunai out confidently and said "I am ready master." He focused chakra into his blade and into his feet, running forth towards his master ready to attack. He swings the kunai, Saisuki reacts and blocks with his. The kunai in his hand snaps in two pieces and the apprentice stands proud.

The two did the same once more, testing the strength of his technique, the chakra shredded through the metal. The second test was done.

"Well then," Saisuki said, smiling at the boy, "You've done these two tests wonderfully."

He wiped sweat off of his forehead and sighed. Looking around, then at Ikawa, he nodded. Everything was still stable, but it was taking effort to maintain the world by pulling at the chains of it to keep it in-tact. He wasn't actually tired so much as he was mentally exhausted. Though, he knew he could keep going for far much longer. After all, nothing he did in this place actually used up either of their chakras, and all it amounted to was Saisuki making sure he stayed focused.

"Okay," he said, "Final test."

"You're going to create your own Jutsu." he told Ikawa. "By combining the Chakra Threads puppet technique with Zanjutsu, you're going to make that harmless yarn wrapped around your arm into approximately 2500 meters of destruction and death." Saisuki said, "In other words, you're going to only use the principles of the Chakra Threads technique that helps you move the string to your whim. But the same chakra you'll be passing through that string will also have to be using Zanjutsu to make it a cutting edge, though you don't have to worry about increasing the range. Taking half of one technique, and half of another, then slamming those together and hoping for a good result."

Saisuki sighed and sat down, "But I can't help you with that one. You're gonna have to do it by yourself. Do you think you can manage?"

"I will do my best." the young man said with a grin getting to work on his new found skills. He would need to combine the two in order to create a destructive force, it surely sounded interesting. Ikawa spread his feet apart and faced a tree, his focus and goal was to knock the threads through the tree and topple it to the ground. 'Zanjutsu' The threads began to be enveloped with chakra, he swung it around destroying the grass around the ground. The shinobi then tried the chakra threads technique again and made the threads move around. 'Ok... I can do this...' he thought to himself.

Time Skip

'Zanjutsu Threads' Ikawa placed his hands forward, chakra, blue in color began to come forth. The young man swung his left hand towards the tree in front of him. The light disappeared and reappeared around his hands, which was the blue chakra. A crumbling sound went off as the tree began to tilt and tumble over. The young shinobi gave a grin as the mastery of his own jutsu began to progress. Dust and grass sprung up as the tree slammed into the ground.

Ikawa turned towards his master with a grin on his face.

Saisuki nodded, "Zanjutsu Threads, huh? Adequate name, I suppose." Saisuki wondered what the reaction would be to Ikawa having taught himself this. From anyone, not just Agnia.

"At the level you have it now, which is just fine, you can only use this technique with the support of actual thread or wire. I'll get you some Razor Wire that'll be longer than what you have now, and a glove to fit it on so that you don't end up cutting yourself on it, when we arrive in Kumo. But, somehow, I think the more you grow, the less you'll have to rely on a physical crutch and just use Chakra Threads that can cut. Then again, that might be asking for a bit much, but hey, this is your technique so only you can really know the limits of it, right?" Saisuki told him.

"Anyway, I'm gonna need you to wake up now, we're already here." Saisuki said. "If I can offer one bit of advice; keep this technique of yours to yourself. Don't show it off right away, and only when you're in danger. I think that the skills you have with your other techniques can carry you just far enough, but you shouldn't be quick to reveal your ace. Other than that..." Saisuki said tapping his chin, "Just do your best. Since you've never used this in actual combat before, there's no telling how 'wrong' things might accidentally go. I would devote some time to spar with you here in this place, but we are out of time, and likewise, I don't have the time to teach you how to separate this world from the real one so that you can be in both at once. Not that I know if someone your age can do that, takes a lot of mental stress after all."

With that, Saisuki vanished. Not with any light or any sound, just blinked out in an instant. The world itself began to dull in shades of grey before blacking out entirely.

This is when Ikawa felt a poke on his cheek. Followed by another. Then another.

"Wake up now." Saisuki told him, poking him in the cheek to wake him up. "You've got the first test to get to, I imagine we're close to being late."

Saisuki vanished from Ikawa's sight and the world around him began to fall apart. In a blink of an eye he was back in the real world. The young man opened his eyes after being poked in the cheek by his master. "The first test..." he mumbled for a moment, a look of confidence began to grow on his face. "Alright, I am ready." he said a grin formed on his face.

"Good." Saisuki said with a grin, "Just remember what you learned and you'll do fine. I think. Maybe the first test would be weird, who knows."

Epic Foreshadowing.

With that, Saisuki stood up in the cart they were in and leaped out the back.
