So after some more waiting, Jennifer decides she wants to introduce herself first. And she does this by shifting persona to a shirtless guy that shouts a lot. And then there were explosions. Gene shrugs, it could've been weirder knowing her. He gave it a 4/5. Then she flashes a look, no a challenge to them. Well if you're going to be like that... Gene gets up and goes up and takes center stage. "I'm Gene. Now while you kids will probably refer to the rest of the staff by a last name or title, you will do no such thing in my class. In case you couldn't tell from my sleeveless attire I am your teacher for physical. What that means is that if the "great Kamina" over there is here to simply push all of you to be the best, I am here to teach you to rely more on your skills and wits rather than magic or technology. My class will be difficult, but as long as you aren't a dumbass, you should walk out in one piece. Probably. 50/50 shot. Some of you might think that since I'm the youngest teacher and the most casual that I might go easy on you with punishment. I won't, in fact, I'll probably come up with exciting and creative things to do if I have to put in the paperwork to have you punished. Again, not being a dumbass plays a key factor here. Now I have this giant chunk of information I have to give you, which is why I'm taking so long standing up here. What I need to tell you about is the wonderfully interesting topic of guilds. The word guild here equates to a nicer way of saying that we group you up and pit you against each other creating strife and unnecessary drama, as if there was not enough already. You do not pick which guild you are in, our headmasters have taken the liberty of choosing for you. If you do not like your guildmates, tough. You'll have to deal with it. You perform missions, which are basically you guys doing unpaid work, possibly risking life and limb for people who may or may not be ungrateful bastards, with your guild. You will go to classes with your guild too. The rest of the time you can go talk with whomever you want. Now how we actually go about encouraging competition is through Guild Points, also known as GP. In classes and missions, among other things we give you points based on how well you do. If arbitrary points aren't enough to spread seeds of passion, they have been given value as currency that you can spend for stuff. But the good stuff is expensive, like at eat and play restaurants where you spend 30 bucks on games then all you can get is a yo yo with your hard earned tickets. Except in this case the yo yo will actually help you and will not break after a week. Each guild will have a leader and assistant. After this orientation is out of the way, each of you will go to your guild house and pick a leader, assistant, guild name and color. Now don't get too ambitious, if you suck you can always get kicked out of office. Also, although I'm sure you guys are extremely creative fonts of imagination, please avoid picking a stupid name like Elemental Fury or Universal Alliance. It makes it all the harder to take the group seriously. Now if your guild takes a good hard look at the candidates and decides neither is good enough, you can have co-leaders. Take that as you will. After you guys decide all this arbitrary information, you are free to do whatever the hell you want. And whoever finishes first gets a bonus 150 GP. Well have fun processing that info dump." Gene walks back to his seat and plops down with his arms crossed. |

This information dump as they put it did indeed interest Mito. Unfortunately putting together the different sources of information he gathered that his odds of being given a position of power were minimal as the one person who would vouch for him (namely Jim) was almost certainly in a seperate guild based on the fact that they were roommates and so far every single thing about this place seemed centred on pitting the students against one another. It was a rather unusual paradigm where even the staff seemed to be competing with each other. Do you think maybe this is just another test? Unlikely. I think they are generally trying to create situations where long term alliances are detrimental except where they place you. It is clever, but they are controlling us. We'll have to be careful to not be sucked into it. If anyone is paranoid enough to avoid being manipulated it is you. Don't mock the paranoia. It has kept is alive all these years. Well you wouldn't need to be paranoid if you stopped making everyone wan to kill you. Speaking of which he careful with these people, a lot of them look unstable and dieing because you piss one of them off isn't really how I want to go. |

Dmitrii had arrived, and sat down in a, quite frankly, random place, strangely not choosing somewhere particularly far away from everyone else. He was everything but impressed at Jennifer, or rather, Kamina's presentation, and even gave off a quite noticeable yawn. Then, Gene stepped in. Yet again, the threats of non-kindness and punishment made him yawn, but the teacher caught his attention once the words "we group you up and pit you against each other creating strife and unnecessary drama," came out of the man's mouth. There, Dmitrii actually let of a smirk. The fact that they had to be in guilds didn't please him, but getting put up against other students was a perfect place to show off how much better than everyone else he was. And hell, if that didn't work, he could always just cause chaos inside his own guild, purposely dragging them down. The possibilities were endless. At the end of the speech, Dmitrii says under his breath: "Cool story, bro" and crosses his arms, still with a smirk on his face. |

Makenzie sat along side with Kamiko. The food was surprisingly up to par with her standards. It was a pitty that her friend had hers a little overcook. Rather unfortunate, but it happens. She watched the two teachers preform their introductions. The first one was odd, and it did not look like Makenzie could benefit much from it. Even if she could... how can anyone like that be qualified to teach? The second seemed far more level headed and normal. Of course, comparing him to the other staff members was like comparing anything to a rabid hobo. She shrugged it off. There are a lot of nutcases out there. |

Kamiko sat in her chair utterly petrified by the first teacher's multi personas yell out to her. She had seen those glasses on the streets of Tokyo as many people cosplayed anime. The second teacher seemed more... human? But his speech was long. Kamiko was able to pick up the mention of guilds and leaders. She smiles fully hoping that she would become one of these leaders. |

Gene made Benji relax somewhat. He seemed normalish. And Benji figured he could do alright in his Physical class, as he always made sure to keep himself in shape. The idea of guilds was interesting to say the least. More proof he was in for interesting times. |

Having allowed the two junior teachers to make their speeches first, Gretchen casually stood up and slouched her way forward towards the edge of the stage and looked out to the students sat before her, her eyes scanned every student but looked at none in particular. Her face was pretty standard, showing no specific emotion of any kind. Clearing her throat Gretchen glanced back at the other teachers before addressing the student body. "Alrigh', hey 'nd all tha' jazz. Gene is not 'eh only teacher ye'll be referin' to by firs' name. I'm Gretchen 'nd tha's all ye'll be callin' me. None o' this ma'am or Professor or teacher bull, jus' Gretchen. Ye call me anythin' else? I'll ignore ye." She looked around all the faces again before continuing. "If ye dinnae understand m'accent 'en ye jus' need t'get used to it. Won't take ye long, honestly. Now... I'm responsible for makin' sure ye all dun break. Be tha' physically or mentally. Resident doctor 'ere 'nd also a teacher of anatomy 'nd sciences; more specifically 'eh structure o' things. Ye'll see wha' is in store for ye when ye show up for m'class. It ain't all book work, so it willnae be borin'." With that she turned 180 on her heel and walked back to her chair and sat down silently. |

Makoto made it into the orientation just in time to hear everything. He just blended it pretty well. He found Jennifer to be really weird, yet awesome, he looked forward to working with her. The speech really got him pumped. Gene's speech was less interesting and seemed pretty confusing... but the most confusing of all was Gretchens. Seriously. What the hell did she even just say? |

Mito had been staring rather intently at Gretchen throughout her speech. Oi! Stop that! What? Its only fair. Okay, A, we don't know that, it is merely your wild paranoia, and B, what if you actually manged to tap into your powers and set her on fire? What is the exit strategy huh? Hmmph fine, I won't try and learn pyrokinesis on the teacher then. He slumped back in his chair moodily. |

Arthur stood after the other teacher Gretchen had sat down, it was now his turn to give his little 'speech' on his class as well. While he walked over to the podium his metal boots made a clinking sound as it hit the ground. It was pretty quiet; his eyes scanned the entire student population, looking at them before he began to speak. "Hello students, I am Arthur Adayus, one of your senior teachers at this academy. My class is the magical arts, whether you have magical abilities or not will not matter. Through my lessons I hope to teach you all many things. I am telling you now, this will not be an easy course, just because you may be able to use magic will not give you a lead over the others. Now then, I hope to see you all there. He gave a smile to the students before he walked off to his chair and sat back down. |

Tad rose and examined his students. The late arrivals were fitting in, quite nicely. Smiling and letting out a satisfied sigh, he bowed to the students and began. "You've all finally met your eccentric teachers, as we've met our loopy students. Hopefully this year will go smoothly and have more learning, love, and growing than difficulties, strife, and complications.. But, that's what makes things fun, now doesn't it? Generally.. As long as we don't have any attempted assassinations or duels to the death." He eyeballed Jess and Jimmy as he pulled the folder he had brought with him from behind his back. He took a step back and looked to Lillith, not sitting down, yet. He brought the guild lists and schedules, just in case someone else wasn't prepared to list all that out to the students. |

Benji began to think on what the last teacher, Arthur Adayus, had said. One possibility went through his mind. Could he summon magic? To be honest, he had no idea, not knowing any magic to try and summon. Something to consider, at the least. Though at the Janitor?'s comment about not having assassinations or duels to the death, Benji raised an eyebrow. Like he needed more proof that this place had no concept of the word normal. Then again, he was kinda fuzzy on it himself. |

Well, time to recap for Jess: First teacher: Hell yes! Second teacher: Well... Crap... Guilds sound interesting though. Third teacher: ... I wonder if my scanner has a subtitle/translation feature. Fourth teacher: Magic??? Sweet!!! Tad: Well, that's not fun at all... Makes sense, but still not fun. So far, so good. Although she was wondering how they were going to decide the composition of Guilds... Edited by Hell Coos, Oct 7 2012, 08:54 PM.

Lilith stands up finally. She smiles warmly being able to meet the students beforehand and experience their abilities in her test was a plus as well. Everyone showed great potential, perhaps would be stronger than she was when she was a student at the academy. "Afternoon everyone. Once again I am your Headmistress Lilith Arknight, but you can just call me Headmistress Lilith for short or just by my title. I am honored to have you all as students at my academy; You were selected and have proved yourselves worthy to be apart of this longstanding academy for gifted individuals. We are set to begin now that you've gotten a full introduction from the staff. I will call your name and you will receive a slip of paper with your guild number and the directions to your guild." She says. She spreads the guild rosters and slips between the teachers and then calls all of the students names allowing them to come up and grab their slip from the teachers. "Remember. No discussing your guilds until you get to your guild house." She adds. *Just post saying you grabbed your slip. One of the mods will PM you, your guild number.* --- Kamiko listens to the rest of the staff, she hears her name called after a few other students and proceeds to walk to the stage to grab her slip. "I hope we get the same guild Makenzie!" She says. She grabs a slip and begins to walk away to open it in secret. Edited by TheUltimateMaddogg, Oct 8 2012, 02:57 AM.

Jess stood up and took her slip when called. She only hoped she didn't had to shoot someone of her guild on the first week. |
