Here on the southern coastline, one ran into many an interesting person. And the beings who surrounded Aifos as she ventured into the port town were certainly 'interesting', including many she hadn't even seen before. Her travels had brought her here, and if she wanted to find anything important, this would be the place. |

This was the third area of civilization Aifos had been to since she left her home underground, what she found definitely wasn't what she had expected after the last two dinky fishing towns she had been to. There were so many different... types(?) of people. Fuck, half of these guys aren't even human. There must be at least... 50 people in this one area. Probably. The psionicist couldn't actually get a good head count. They kept moving and it was really irritating. Putting off her annoyance, Aifos focuses on remembering what she needs. Master Joe wanted her to get life experience. Now it'd be stupid to ask where she could get that. So she went down the mental checklist. Supplies, more importantly, food. These last couple days on the road definitely saw to her dwindling storage. Buy her calculations, Aifos had enough to go for another 2 days before she would be completely out of anything edible, and who knew how long it would take to reach the next town/source of income. For food, she would need money. The girl checks her pouch that was feeling a lot lighter than she had hoped. Hopefully, there would be enough for to completely restock with something, even if it was something bland like only bread loaves. If not, well she would have to find some way of earning money. Taking a moment to steel her nerves, Aifos opens her pouch and empties its contents into her palm. |

There wasn't much there; she would definitely have to restock. But in this kind of town, it was likely she would be able to haggle her way into a few good deals. This was a trading place after all. Near the pier was where the trading and fish market was located, bustling with activity. |

Aifos' heart sagged as she counted up 8 pieces of copper. She knew that she was pretty close to being broke, but the hope that she could spend a little longer unemployed shoved back that thought to the back of her head. True, it was good for a day or two in town, but out in the wilderness? NOPE. Hm, of course this port town did give off the appearance of a hive of scum and villainy. A job that she could perform rather easily might be possible. Maybe, just maybe if she played her cards right Aifos could get enough to last her until she finished a few jobs and had enough to continue her journey again in earnest. Well, if she were going to get some food here, the best place to check first is the market where fish is being sold. Aifos made sure that if she had a bit of copper left over, or if she didn't like anything available in the fish mart, the next place she would go was the pub. It would serve two purposes and she could do with a quick drink. Moving through the crowd whilst ignoring the desire to simply shove them aside with mind powers, Aifos approaches the first stall that catches her attention and previews the wares. |

This cart carried a number of fresh produce and already cut fish. Though the prices were reasonable, it didn't look like anything Aifos could afford. The merchant manning the booth saw her approach and smiled at her. "Can I help ye?" he asked. |

Well, she had anticipated not being able to buy anything at all? Something told her that she wouldn't be able to buy anything at the market, at least with her spare change. Well, it wasn't a total loss at the very least, she could get a good idea of if she could buy something at the tavern nearby, possibly some info on where she could find a job, if she was lucky. When the man turns around and greets her, Aifos sets her jaw unconsciously, but continues with a nice, if slightly forced smile. "Yep, I'm a traveler and I was wondering how much a drink or two would cost at the local tavern. Also any information on a way to make some quick cash would be appreciated." |

"A drink? Two or three copper depending on the effect you want," the merchant replied. "As for quick work, people are always looking for manual labor to help with the ships' cargo. Hard work though," he added, giving her a once-over before returning to what he was doing before. |

Aifos sneers for an instant when she catches the shopkeeper's curious gaze. Well slight perviness aside, the man had given her some good information. She walks away from the stand to consider her options. Well she could definitely afford a beer, but that would eat a big hole in her already diminutive cash supply. She was no stranger to a bit of manual labor, she could definitely do that, and even if the cargo was too heavy for Aifos to transport physically, it would be cake to carry with her psionics, she would just need to be a bit subtle about it. Hold the cargo, only alleviating most of the weight so that'd she still be doing work. If she relied solely on her psychic skills to get the job done, Aifos would feel bad accepting her employer's money. Current plan: 1.Do some heavy lifting at the docks 2.Afterwards get a drink Well she wasn't sure what to do next, but she figured that the end result would be profit of some sort. The psionicist heads off to the docks. |

She passed by many a strange person, though as she neared the sea, more and more of them were obviously sailors, lifting heavy shipments of cargo and shouting obscenities at each other. Eventually, one looked up and saw her. Raising a thick eyebrow, he eyed her with disinterest and growled, "you lost?" |

Wow, and she thought the people in town were varied. The psionicist moves about trying not to stare at the sailors for too long. It was sort of odd that nobody took notice of her after the amount of time she had spent walking through the docks. Judging from his eyebrows and the smell that the sea air didn't cover this work was hard, even for big burly guys. Still, the cargo would be cake as long as she didn't overexert herself. And maybe, this sailor taking notice would be Aifos' shortcut to some employment, and more importantly, cash. But first, she would need to show no fear, the slightest slip could mean another half hour of wandering. Speaking in a clear confident tone, Aifos replies, "Nope. I'm here to lift some cargo like you guys. What's it to ya?" |

Clearly, judging from the skeptical dry look in the sailor's eyes, he didn't think much of the idea. But after another glance he said, "ye'd want to talk to that guy," the man grunted, pointing a dirty thumb at a handsome man a few yards away, who was talking to someone else with his arms crossed. "He's the boss." |

Well, looking at her, Aifos wouldn't think herself strong enough to do the work either. So his assumption got placed in the Fair Enough category of possible reactions. 'Least he pointed me in the right direction. Gathering herself up, the psychic walked over to Da Boss, hopefully a picture of confidence. Before actually talking to this gentleman(probably not even close to this guy's true nature), Aifos takes a moment to size the guy up. Well he did hire these guys, so the guy's rather well off. Let's see if I can gleam anything else based on how he acts. "Hello,"Aifos says, to the man. Not much else to say here. |

The man looked up, and his eyes found her. "Hello," he greeted with a smile. "Is there something I can do for you, miss?" he asked her amiably. |

Well, seems like a nice enough guy, but you can never be sure. And hopefully he won't laugh me away when I ask for a job. Aifos returns the smile and continues on. "I understand that you could use some help moving some of this cargo. And I just so happen to have the skills to help out." Hopefully that didn't sound as ridiculous to him as it did to her. |

The man tilted his head to the side. To her surprise he did not brush her off or laugh at her. His eyebrows did inch toward the middle of his forehead, but he considered her for a moment. "And what skills would those be?" he inquired. |
