The God of Conquest
|
David held his swords up in a defensive stance and crouched down a little. Whatever was coming he wanted to be ready to ensure it didn't cause serious damage. |

It was a guy charging at David with a spear held out. You know, when you think about it, It's stupid to charge at somebody from halfway across the battlefield. |

It was the people who seemed foolish which left david most at edge, after all every good strategy begins with a feint and making your opponent underestimate you with a seemingly terrible decision was a good way to begin. Whoever this spearman was he was either an idiot or had a plan. That or David was just over-analysing and paranoid. Or both. Probably both. Either way, he met the man's challenge. Using both swords he attempted to knock the charging spear to one side and then should charge into the approaching man, using his momentum to increase the impact force. |

Turns out the man was just an idiot. He was disarmed and knocked to the ground rather easily, but he wasn't out yet. The former spearman gets off the ground and moves in for a jab, only to pull back and go for a kick in the nuts. |

The final fantasy victory tune played in david's head for a moment. It was the little things... |

It was then that the forces of the Triad began retreating, weakened and with hurt prides. As they left, a random aggressor throws a stone at David's head. |

David tried to bat the stone away with his hand. "Hey! That was just rude!" He looked for the source of the makeshift projectile. |

The rock clatters onto the ground, alone in a cruel stone-tossing world. Anyway, whoever had thrown it had long moved away from where the stone was thrown. |

David knew that he could chase them, that he could catch them and odds were that he could slay them as well. But he had no intention of doing so. He wanted as few casualties as possible and right here and now they had sent a message. This village wasn't worth it. It seemed as though the battle might just be over. WWhich mean that he needed to find Shana just in case the universe decided to eject him again. Whatever happened, he didn't want to end up leaving her behind by mistake. |

Shana was sitting in front of the gates cleaning her katana as if she had not just been in a desperate life or death struggle. Well, it would look like that, were she not covered in (presumably somebody else's) blood. |

It was certainly a relief to see that she was (as far as he could see unharmed). He sheathed the two swords he had as best he could and approached her. The calm on her face was good, David suspected that there was a good chance in the near future once the adrenaline was gone he may end up suffering PTSD as a result of the battle and the People that he had killed in it and having her be serene about everything should help. |

Well, the best David could do in terms of sheathe was sticking the swords through separate belt loops. Shana looks up at David and smiles. It was the kind of smile that said, Pretty nice battle there, eh? Either she was used to this type of stuff, or Shana actually was crazy. Or both. |

It wouldn't have surprised David too much if shana was used to this stuff. She had appeared to be a warrior in her own home as she seemed to lead the assault on the Unagi. David began taking long deep breaths to calm himself and slow his heart rate. Just because he was now strong enough to be a lord character it doesn't mean he was experienced or really liked the fighting at all. This was a necessity.. Deep down he had enjoyed it a little but he didn't want to admit it. Even so, he returned the smile, if nothing else it was good to see that even for a moment she had a niche. |
