"Yeah, uh, sorry about that. I guess being in a real battle like that was more tiring than I expected. I must have passed right out." He stood and stretched out feeling his joints crack he did and gave a yawn. The lack of wounds meant that he wasn't doing to badly but he still felt a little bit stiff. |

"Yeah, saw you passed out against the wall when I got back home. Don't worry too much about it." Shana walks (she was pretty good at it now. She didn't even fall in over 2 hours) over to the table and takes a seat, rocking a bit in the chair impatiently. |

After everything that had happened David was a little more willing to trust Gabriel. He still thought that there was some connection with the black knight, but since the teleportation hadn't swept him away again, he may as well be honest with the one friend who he had from this world. "Listen, Gabriel, there is something I should probably tell you. I have no doubt you have figured out that I have been giving you something of the runaround in terms of my story but after what we went through, I think you at least deserve to know the truth okay?" He sat down at the table beside Shana and considered exactly how to explain it. |

"You mean that you're from another world and just appeared here a couple days ago with your friend?" |

"Well that much was obvious, your world has no where near the level of technology involved in this cybernetic hand." He smiled, happy that Gabriel was as on the ball as he thought he was. He took a deep breath and just layed everything on the table. "More specifically, I claimed to be a warrior but I haven't actually been a fighter at all before about 2 days ago. I was whisked away from my world and put through a gauntlet of battles. It started small, just a single regular man, then a giant fish, followed by the beast that took my hand. After that I was sent to an underwater city where I met Shana. Together we took down a giant eel before I was sent here. The truth is that I only knew Shana for maybe 2 hours long than you do, she was just caught up in whatever force was taking me away. All I know is that since that first battle, I would fight something, become magically enhanced and then be taken somewhere else to fight something new. That is why I was a little fixated on the black knight before, I thought he was the reason that I was sent here." |

"You know, that's kind of hard to believe by any stretch of the imagination, right?" Gabriel puts down a plate of a large egg and two sausage looking things in front of each person. The eggs were cooked sunny side up, if you liked them some other way, tough. |

He shrugged. "Normally I would agree, after all I'm a skeptic. But you have seen what I can do. Either way, I have told you the truth now, whether you believe it or not is your business. Suffice to say, all I know about your world is that it resembles mine about 800 years before when I am from." Taking up a fork he poked the egg and spread the yolk over the rest of the egg before eating it. |

The rest of that meal was spent in an awkward silence. Maybe it would've been better to not tell him everything. Well, everything except hearing the voice of Morgan Freeman narrate your life. After all the dishes had been put away, Gabriel addresses David again. "Look, I won't be able to study your hand for awhile due to the aftermath of the battle being cleared, so you'll have at least a couple days free to do as you please. I'll stay here, working on other projects." |

David thought to himself about what he could do in this foreign town. After a moment he decided that the triad invasion was merely an interlude from his original suspicions. "Well then, if I have some time on my hands I think I will look into the whole black knight thing again. Oh, and I apologize in advance for if I disappear suddenly, I have no control over that whole magic transportation thing I mentioned." |

"Heh, like you said yesterday, we were heroes right? I'm sure people would welcome our assistance in ending another threat to them." It was likely a weak defence. Gabriel had a good point, people had been less than eager to assist him before, but perhaps after the act of loyalty it would be a bit easier. |

Gabriel shrugs and goes over to his desk, going over the papers. |

"Alright then, I guess it is time to get this show on the road." He stood and stretched out again before heading towards the door. First thing is first, where to go. So far, he had received more information from the front gate guards than anyone else, probably best to start there since they were the most likely to have seen anything. |

As David walked through Roan, there was an uneasy still to the whole place. It was different than last night, because it followed David like a stench. People would be happily chatting, spot David and immediately hush, speaking in withdrawn whispers. This was different than the feel that he'd experienced previously with Gabriel, where they were more or less ignored with an occasional snicker. Whatever it was, nobody would have their gaze meet David's. |

David was unsurprised. He had shown himself to be different, above the normal and dangerous. He would probably be weary of someone like himself too. If nothing else, he was good at being alone, he usually was shunned in his normal life after all so th people avoiding him didn't really affect him very much. |
