For a moment David just waited expectantly but upon realising that she was doing that thing that annoying people do when they want to pull you up on your poor choice of grammar do he simply sighed exasperatedly. "Would you mind sharing?" |

"Yes." She probably wasn't putting you off sue to poor grammar, especially considering the way most people here spoke. |

Once more he sighed. "You know if you had no intention of telling me the least you could at least be upfront about it." |

"Fine then. I won't tell you. Good day, sir." And with one last,"Hmph" the lady returns to her work. |

This had just changed from a nice mystery to a frustrating enigma. Somehow, being denied and having th einformation actively hidden made David determined to figure out what was going on in there. Either way, he wasn't going to get anything else from in here. A new source was best, and given there were only a very select few people in the city he knew, it was best to see someone he had met before in that district. He decided to head over to the tailor. |

The tailor was standing there ad he had been the day before, his face not changing a bit upon seeing David. The only indication he gave acknowledging the warrior's presence was a gruff,"Harrumph." |

Well acknowledgement was at least a step in the right direction. "Good day to you. Listen, this may be somewhat odd but I have only been introduced to about 5 people in town thus I have a limited range whom I can ask this of. The fact is that I am somewhat perplexed by the rather shady building just down the street and have been trying to figure out what exactly it is for all morning. Is there any chance you could offer some enlightenment?" [you know reading this speech pattern of mine seems unnatural in modern times and yet the odd thing is this is how I actually talk] |

Gustav stays exactly where he is, not a muscle on him changing for several seconds until he finally began speaking. "You don't want to know what's in there, lad. It would be better if you forgot this whole thing right now and went about your own business." |

This was remarkably annoying now. "If whatever goes on in there is so bad then why is it that everyone just treats it like it is no big deal. If there is such a problem shouldn't something be done about about it?" |

"I'll tell you why. When people have a big problem right next to them that could cause trouble, they'd rather ignore it and move on than look at it. It's not affecting them, so why bother worrying about it even if things will only gradually degrade? Which leaves the few who would want to deal with it, like you on your own. You're better off getting out of here while you can." |

"See, that leaves me in something of a pickle then because it isn't my nature to ignore a problem and hope it eventually goes away. I'm more of a problem solver." Or at least I have become one now that solving issues seems to transport me all over time and space |

"This isn't the kind of thing you can just fix," the tailor pauses a second before speaking again,"Anyways, if yesterday was any indication, you'd be better off looking into the Black Knight." |

"That is at the top of my to do list. But after the battle yesterday, it is unlikely he would show himself for at least a few days. It would seem foolish when everybody was recently so battle ready. That said, any help tracking him down would be appreciated." |

"Well I wasn't exactly expecting much. Thanks anyway I guess." Curiouser and curiouser. There seemed to be a brick wall between figuring out what was going on in that place and himself. If nothing else though, it seemed as though people were more afraid of the implications of blowing the lid off of it than what was going on in there. It was probably mostly harmless until someone stuck their nose in too deep. For now, perhaps it was best to just stick to what he knows, there are two major issues that he knew about in the village. The black knight and the mysterious 'business' that would slowly erode the community. The black knight was far more tangible. Best to stick with that for now. He wasn't terribly sure where to go now though. He had gotten himself a job to pass time but that started tomorrow, he still had most of a day left to spend. He decided to just go to the town centre and think for a little while. Perhaps there was something he had missed and some quiet time should help. |
