"So would you rather have me run these tests now or would you rather wait a bit?" Gabriel asks. |

"No, lets do them now. That is why I came back straight away." David laid his left hand face up on the table for Gabriel Edited by Mistriousfrog, Jun 22 2013, 01:11 AM.

"Well, we should probably go to the beach again. The tests I have lined up for today are a bit more rigorous than usual. But we should wait until you finish your tea before heading out." Back at the desk there was a noticeable squeak. Shana had a love-hate relationship with the beach. She loved the air there, and the view, but it seemed to bring bad some bad memories and a bit of homesickness. But the smile she had on her face seemed like she was more excited than disheartened about the little trip today. |

"Alright then." David picked up the cup and planned on draining it. It was a little hot to do so in practice though. He took a few minutes sipping it slowly before he was ready to leave. |

It was no problem getting to the beach. Even if everybody else forgot, the guards saw what David was capable of firsthand, and once the fear subsided some, he found them to be eternally grateful. He'd often get cakes or sweet meats from the wives of the guard, and they always let his group go in and out of Roan as he pleased from then on. As they walked, there was that feeling again, that he was being watched, and anytime he looked, the presence seemed to remain just out of sight. But other than that, the trek to the beach was rather nice for the trio. Shana looked up at the sky, and Gabriel spent most of the time looking through his notes. |

The feeling of being watched had been coming up for him throughout the past month. It was unsettling and David refused to let himself just get used to it just in case. His paranoia was probably never going to really go away. Even so, he figured that it was probably someone from the assassin's cult watching him when he felt this way. |

"I understand you have the ability to fire beams of light from your hand. I'm not quite sure what they even are, so I'd like to study their properties today. That is okay with you, right David?" Gabriel, in his black robe walked along the beach, hands behind his back while staring at nothing particular really. Shana kept at the back, looking around for anything that might need to be killed. Nothing dangerous had occurred yet, but she didn't let her guard down outside of Gabriel's house. |

David held out the cybernetic hand and observed the point in the palm where the laser emerges from. "Certainly. I'm not entirely sure what they are either. From what I can tell when using it, my natural energy is absorbed by the technology like a sponge. It is then transformed and focused in palm here" He pointed at the little gem. "Then it is just a matter of releasing it. So far I have figured out how to either do it all in one go or in three smaller bursts." |

"Interesting." Gabriel scribbles down some notes on his pad. "Would you mind firing one such blast at that rock?" He gestures to boulder roughly 30 feet(10m) in front of David with the quill in his hand. |

"Aye." David took a deep breath and began focusing on drawing in energy. He held out his left hand and steadied it with his right. Finally he was ready and released the polarized light wave at the rock. |

The impact of the blast leaves the rock face black and burnt. Gabriel cautiously approaches the boulder and begins studying the surface of the rock with great interest. Frankly, it was rather dull to watch. However, something more troubling occurs. It sounds like the clapping of armored hands off in the distance. And he still had that watched feeling. |

The ordinary paranoia that David felt from being watched was sent into overdrive by the clinking metal he could hear. Quickly he looked around for where the sound could be coming from. |

It felt like the sound was coming from off the beach, on the grassy hills above. |

"Do you guys hear that?" David asked as he began trying to figure out what it could be. "I'll be back in a minute." He began climbing the hill to get a better look at whatever could be making that noise. Edited by Mistriousfrog, Jun 23 2013, 03:52 AM.

"Sure thing," Gabriel says, distractedly. He was too absorbed in his studies to have really listened anyways. Shana merely waves, looking farther down the beach. when David climbed to the top, he saw a person on a higher hill, looking down on him. This person was clad in all black, and from the light, there was definitely some armor donned. Also, they were riding a midnight colored steed. |
