"The Black Knight... So you do exist."
For a moment David hesitated. He considered whether or not to call for support from Shana, after all she had shown in the battle that she could handle herself.

No... I can't put others in danger. This is something i have to do. I have been given power, and I need to use it to protect them. Even so, I can't let them be taken unawares if I should be defeated.

He yelled down to the beach before drawing one of his swords ready to face off with the one who was attributed with so many murders.

"Shana, Gabriel, make yourself scarce!"

The rider waves David over. All he could do now was move forward and hope for the best.

At some point David knew this was coming. Whether the Black Knight existed or not David would be forced to face whatever it was at some point. He followed its wave and approached. He was cautious though, clearly the knight was aware of what David could do and yet he still chose to make himself known. That means that either he didn't want to fight or he was convinced he could still win.

Upon closer inspection, it became obvious that this was the same person clad in black that he had seen for the past month. Small world.

David wasn't overly surprised. The black cloaked person he had been seeing was always a little suspicious and it seemed inevitable that it was someone from the town. There was a question raised though, David had been assuming the black clad person was from the assassin's guild. Were the two related though or not...

The horse walks over to David, and its rider looks down at David with an icy gaze, the eyes and the surrounding area being the only region not covered by a garment of some sort. The other noticeable thing was a massive sword stored in a sheathe built into the large horse's saddle It didn't look pleasant, and the horse carried a faint stench of death about it.

David stood ready to face him. He held his sword up ready.
"So you are the one who I have heard so much about. Why now? After a month of hiding in the background why are you finally showing yourself now?"

"Mmmmmmrph," there was a piece of cloth bound rather tightly around the rider's mouth multiple times. There would be no intelligible answers despite the person's best efforts.

David sighed in response.
"Well, I wish I could say I was surprised that you plan on being difficult. So then are you going to try and kill me like the rest or just continue staring menacingly?"

The rider shrugs. It really came down to if David would rather be attacked or continue the staring match.

Even now faced with the one he suspected he had been brought to this land to defeat David still didn't find himself actively seeking out conflict if it could be avoided. The trouble was that so far he had always acted in self defense or direct defense of another. Throwing the first punch simply wasn't his style, even against someone like this.

So staring contest it was. The person cocks their head from side to side, as if trying to figure something out about David.

David wasn't too keen on staring contests and blinked freely. Dry eyes would only disadvantage his ability to discern information quickly. Speaking of information he tried to lean as much as he could from the aesthetic persona but other than enigmatic and vaguely threatening the cloak that the man wore hid him from David's prying eyes.
"I must confess I am a little surprised how slowly this is evolving."

Well, it wasn't so much a cloak as a cloak worn over at least 2 other layers of clothing that made it really hard to tell anything about this person other than they were human. In response to David's statement, they merely nod in something that's half agreement, half resignment. The horse shuffles its feet around. If neither made the first move soon, the horse would do it for them.

The situation was slowly turning from tense into just plain awkward. David was patient enough to wait it out but this was still throwing him off.
"You know, for a serial killer you are awfully patient."
The one sided conversation didn't seem to be helping things much either.
