David was sat slowly sipping the tea. He still hadn't come to many conclusions about what to do now. Unless it had been a front the girl wasn't aggressive. But with the way her horse had strode into battle they might still be responsible for the deaths of all those people though. There was still so much he wanted to talk to her about. Just to get some answers. Either way, it all came back to the Assassin's guild. He had suspected they were behind the black knight but could it simply be that she was being made a scapegoat?

He considered all this pensively and his face had hardened. This had become a whole lot more complicated than a simple find the bad guy mission. Even so, he was happy that there was potentially one less enemy, especially if his observations about her proved accurate.

"What's wrong?" Shana asks. She didn't drink any tea. She had tried some and found it too bitter. That, and she seemed to only want to drink water, partially because the feeling was similar to breathing the stuff, and the partially because drinking anything else was a bit too alien for her. She did eat the biscuits though as did Gabriel, who was dunking it in his tea before consumption.

"I guess it is just that of the two targets I though I had in this world to try and better it i have lost one and gained nothing. The black knight was something tangible, something I could find and end. But now I am left with the assassin's guild. Something far more difficult. It is an idea and one I have no support from the townspeople in ending yet it is something that needs to be done. I guess I am just lost abot what to do."

"Well, couldn't you try talking to the Black Knight again? If your last encounter went as imagined, a lengthy conversation would've been at least somewhat tense." Gabriel shrugs after making his suggestion, taking a bite out of his biscuit.

David nodded.
"Yes, I do plan to have a long talk with her. There are a lot of questions that I still want answered."
He took another sip of tea. It was oddly calming the tea in this world. Probably that it tasted the same as in his own. The connection felt comfortable.

The three sat in a comfortable silence. Nobody said anything. All that happened was an occasional sip or nibble of food. There was a definite tension beneath the surface, held only within the mind. But even with the troubled thoughts, nothing had felt awkward in that little cabin. Next thing he knew, a couple hours had passed without anyone really noticing.

David had enough time to calm down and gather his though by now. He knew that he had to take apart the assassin's guild but wasn't sure how. The girl knew more that he hadn't yet had a chance to talk to her about. That mean that step one would be to find he again and sit down for a full conversation.

Gabriel stretches, yawning large and long before settling back in his chair.
"It's getting late, lad. We should turn in soon." And it was. The sun was saying its last goodbyes to the horizon, and soon, night would consume everything.

It wasn't until Gabriel had pointed it out that David had realised how tired he was. Suddenly he became consciously aware of the fact that his eyelids were drooping and that he was yawning.
"I suppose you are right. For better or worse I may have a big day tomorrow. Best to be rested."
He wished a good night to both before settling down to bed. He was slow to fall asleep as ever but eventually the night did claim him.

David woke up at around 5 am. He'd have to get ready for work soon.

Ah yes work. In the excitement of the previous day David had almost forgotten about the mundane aspects of this world. even if things had picked up though it was best not to make it overly public tha anything had changed for him. He was unsure how much the assassins knew about him but innevitably they were aware of both his and the knight's existence. Best not to draw much attention to himself if possible. David prepared himsel for work as per usual and headed down to collect the days messages. He planned to keep an eye out for the hooded figure of the girl though. Well, keep an eye out slightly more than usual anyway.

David found a stack of messages, each paired with a rough sketch and brief description of the rendezvous point of the target. There were 8 total, sitting there nicely and organized by Cheryl(secretary lady) the night before. The first letter to a Mister Hutch who worked as a carpenter, thus was either found on a roof or in a shed somewhere working when he wasn't eating or sleeping.

David thanked Cheryl politely as he took the stack of papers. He was distracted sure, but that doesn't mean common curtesy went out the window.

Finding tradesmen to give them messages was always a pain. It was a surprisingly big town when you had to locate a person who was hidden away on some roof. David's strategy for delivery had always been to look through the deliveries for anyone who he knew he could locate and just watched for signs of people that were more difficult to find as he went.

Another letter was to Barbara, the wife of the guard who lived a couple houses away from Gabriel, she should be much easier to find.

Seemed reasonable enough. With a quick yawn David set off towards the lady's house keeping an ear out for the sound of carpentry work along the way.
