When David could really get a good look at the removable wall piece, it became rather obvious that it was just a piece of wood that was a really tight fit into the hole in the wall. He managed to get it back into place with time and a bit of patience.

With the secret compartment restored he made his way back to the front of the store. Before he left though he paused to ask Gustav. He knew he probably shouldn't but curiosity got the better of him.
"Say, how long have you known anyway?"

"Hm? Well I've known Davina long before the black knight rumors started cropping up, didn't know they were referring to her until last week. Really makes the whole 'don't leave town or you'll be killed by a ghost' scare seem a bit childish."

"Davina..."
It was just now that he realized that this was the first time hearing her name. In truth it was actually a little unsettling. Character traits and apparently altruistic ambitions were one thing but sharing a name. He began to feel a little suspicious of something that he really hoped wasn't the case.
"Well, I guess rumours travel fast and change even faster. At least I don't have to hunt down an enigmatic killer any more."

"I guess so. Now if you don't have anything else to do, could you get out of my store?" Gustav steps to the side, giving David plenty of space to clear the counter.

"Right... Sure..."
He was still a little starstruck and dazed from his thoughts and left in a hurry.

Sure, maybe a distraction from his thoughts of conspiracies and alternate universes and potential doppelgangers would do him some good.

Next letter was actually for Gabriel. At least David knew where to find him. The picture that accompanied the letter however, looked nothing like the man. The eyes were too far apart and the nose was gigantic.

Strange. maybe this is an old photo or something. Though that level of change is a little unusual, meh, who knows.
He decided that it didn't much matter whether the photo was accurate or not, best to just go with it for now and head over to see him.

For a very wrong hand drawing, it must have really been photo realistic if it could be mistaken for one, especially since there had been no previous evidence of photographs existing. Gabriel was in his home reading a new book when David walked in. Upon hearing the door open he looks up.

"Ah, what have you got for me, lad?"

"Not a clue. I don't open them to check."
He produced the package marked for Gabriel and offered it to his friend.

"Well thank you, David." He takes the envelope and sets it down, returning to his book before he was reading.

"Alright then, I just have a few more. See you later."
He slipped back out of the house while he checked the next location.

... Not really. FAST FORWARD TO 11:30 PM. David was in Gabriel's home and everyone had gone to sleep hours ago and it was just about time to go meet Davina at Gustav's.
