David got up with and stretched. Usually he was a night owl but something about tonight was making him feel uneasy. Perhaps it was just nerves. Either way, there was too much running through his head right now. Theories, plans, questions, hypothesis, simply too much for him to relax. Just being in this world was strange, but this girl Davina has confused things further.

Could it be that I'm simply over-thinking it? he considered briefly. I have the tendency to do that, especially in hard times. Too long building a plan and not enough actually acting. Perhaps it is merely a string of coincidences. Does it matter even if it isn't? No matter that the case is, she is clearly not me, at least not me as I see myself... Damnit, I just need to forget about it all for now. There is nothing to be gained from all this doubt. Regardless of whether it is coincidence or not, the fact that there has been no galactic paradox fixing implosion means that for now at least I just need to accept that she is a like-minded ally with suspiciously similar... bad word, don't think that... with similar traits. Nothing more.

He walked light footed as he tried to sneak carefully out of the house so as not to wake the others and make it to the meeting place without Gabriel and Shana awaking.

Davina was standing right where she said she'd be, but her outfit wasn't the usual cloth/armor mix, instead she wore black leather armor with a faceplate that covered all but her eyes and hood that obscured even that. In her arms was a dark bundle.

"So you're here. Here." She tosses the bundle over to David, who would find the package to be folded up dense but smooth cloth. "That's the outfit you'll need to get in swiped it from the cult awhile ago. Figured it was your size."

"You continue to impress me. At least I can rely on you to have thought things through then."

Looking at the clothes he would have to wear it would appear that this was some form of infiltration and sabotage attack rather than a more direct approach. When dealing with a shadowy opponent, acting from a stealth driven perspective seemed wise. David wasted little time in changing, he wasn't sure how much of a rush they would have to be in but better to prepare quickly.

"So tell me," he began as he turned toward a darkened corner of the room. "Just what is it that we are trying to prevent, and what is the plan for doing so?"

"They're planning on summoning something. The group prays to these... things for guidance and good luck on their missions, and it seems like they've decided to to bring their master," Davina nearly spits out that last word,"into being tonight. Naturally, we can't let them do this easily. If we can sneak in and interrupt the ritual they need to perform, then Roan should be safe for awhile."

"Got it, prevent a teaparty with Cthulu."

Not quite how that idiom was supposed to be used but David never though that he would get a chance to use it in context. That said, if they did have ties to something resembling Great Old Ones, this could become very difficult very quickly.

David couldn't see behind Davina's mask, but the distinct silence basically raised its eyebrow at him. The costume was a bit Small, but completely wearable. The mask smelled though. Like it hadn't been cleaned in a few months after extensive use. Once he was suited up Davina begins to speak again.

"Alright, to get in, you need to flash the secret handsign to the man at the gate." Davina raises her fist up to shoulder level and flips the bird for a second before lowering her finger. "Got that?"

"Strangely appropriate yet potentially foreboding. I understand. Once we are inside though, to what degree do we interfere? Is this a confrontation or merely sabotage without letting them know?"

The key details as to the level of stealth and freedom to act were essential on a black ops situation.

"Once we're inside, don't speak and follow my lead. You should be able to catch on quick enough. Now let's go, we're wasting moonlight." Now that she mentioned it, tonight was rather bright. The large waxing gibbous moon sat there in the sky, allowing easy navigation. Well, as easy as possible in a town where no man made light was allowed. But enough about the moon, Davina had already left.

David wasn't a big fan of going in without knowing the details but it couldn't be helped. If impressions were to be believed, time was limited here and so he just had to trust that she had planned everything as well as he would himself. He quickly made his way after her.

They quickly reach the shady building where Davina knocks on the door three times. It cracks open with an eye peering from the other side. The black knight promptly flips it off and she's allowed in. The eye then directs itself at David.

David performs identically and flips them the bird. This was weird. Compared to some of the other links to his world it wasn't so bad but basically saying screw you in order to request entry seemed a little wrong somehow.

David was then let into the room too. It was exactly what one would expect to find inside a really ratty building. Except there was more dried blood on the floor and walls. Inside were about twenty people, all dressed as David was. They were standing in a circle at attention. Two spots were open. One close to David and another on the opposite side of the room. Standing to the left of the nearest spot was Davina.

David was carefully considering his movements here. Disgusting though it was, he couldn't afford to let it show. hen a choice of position. Any potential interruption or action would be greatly increased by sitting on opposite sides. However, given his lack of knowledge about both the plan and the location, it was probably best to remain close to Davina. He chose to do just that and joined the circle beside her.

A man in a large black cloak steps in the room with a small bowl and knife. Wordlessly, he goes from one member to the next. They present their thumb, a small incision is made and a few drops of blood are collected in the bowl. The man reached David first of the two conspirators. What do?

If Davina believed action was necessary she would take it when called upon. His orders were to follow her lead and not draw attention for now. He trusted she knew when to act and at the very least would signal him somehow if it was necessary. For the sake of maintaining the illusion he presented his thumb like the others ensuring he used his real hand just to be sure.
