There was a prick and then the old man moved on, collecting blood from the remaining people. He produces a few powders and pours them into the bowl, mixing thoroughly before pouring it out onto the floor in a largish circle a bit bigger than a meter in diameter. The man then takes the knife to the palm of his hand, making a deep cut before holding out his arm over the circle. As the blood slowly drips on the floor he begins chanting,"Audum fullise acer. Audum fullise acer. Odom cuter m-" Davina was suddenly in the middle of the room, having punched out the old man across the room. |

David was taken somewhat off guard by the attack. surely there could have been a better time to reveal herself. Even so, he stood still for the moment preparing to fire a triple lazer at anyone who tried to attack her. Best not to let it be obvious they were together until he had to. Having a second person in secret was a great boon to them after all. |

Everyone else had taken to drawing various daggers and began rushing at Davina all at once. However, none of them seemed to be able to land a blow on her. Conversely, she hadn't been able to counter attack any of the assassins. Right when an opening would create itself, another cultist would attack, forcing the black knight to dodge. |

Using this chance while their back was turned David chose to fire, hoping to catch three of them with the fast sequence of shots. lower numbers would make things easier for her. |

Due to the impacts of the people sent flying by the blasts, David managed to actually take out seven of the cultists. About 5 more noticed that David was not supposed to be there and rushed him. The first one performed a leaping spinning vertical strike while dual wielding daggers. |

The downside of going in disguise was being forced to abandon his weapons. Even so, David had seen enough combat to figure out how to handle himself without the swords by his side. And based on their movements, these cult members weren't as dangerous as he had first feared. A leap with a spin to a vertical strike may look cool but it was inefficient and slow, especially while wielding daggers with short range. They were either amateurs or something was wrong here. Either way, David saw a chance and decided to take it. He did his best so swat the man out of the air while he was spinning by moving forward and punching with his artificial hand. |

The man is sent flying, but that doesn't deter the second cultist who attacks by swinging his blade at David's throat. |

Acting on reflex this time rather than consciously planning out his next move he ducked and tried to sweep at the second attacker's legs. |

David successfully knocks down the second assassin, who ends up tripping the third. The last two cultists learn from the mistakes of their comrades and attack David simultaneously from opposite sides, trying to stab him in the torso with their blades. |

This time David had a little time to think. These two are smarter than the others at least, no fancy tricks or inefficient attacks, merely using the short blades for what they are designed for. Backing up will just mean further charging. They are coming from both sides so dodging to the side is impossible. Going up or down is foolish. Best to try and disable one while avoiding the other. As the two got in close david took a step to the left so that he would be out of the original target and tried to use his artifical hand in order to take a hold of the left knife as the man thrust it towards him. Ideally this would let him dodge the right and block the left simultaneously. |

David had a hold on one of the assassins, but the other continued his charge against him, having never actually started his stabbing attack. The captive cultist tries to break free of his bindings, only to find cold metal much less forgiving than flesh and bone. |

holding tightly to the dagger so that he could hold onto it when the assassin inevitably let go of it David let fly a kick to the man's left in order to try an knock him into the other assailant in an attempt to take them both out at once. |

David flicked the dagger over to his good hand. Just because they appeared to be down it didn't mean he was going to drop his guard. That said, it had gone much better than he had expected it to. "You know, when you said you had a plan, I though it would be more elaborate than walk through the front door and then unleash hell." |

And there in the middle of the room was the old man, who had resumed while the assassins kept the two Davids busy. "Gemu giru gan go gufo, VITA! Rise, Curse god of misfortune!" And from the circle of blood an intense, tangible darkness swept over the room, spilling out into the night. |
