It swims past him and looks back, waving for him to follow. |

David was a little unsure of how to respond. So far in this crazy chain of events he was yet to find a creature which wasn't trying to kill him. He decided to let his trusting nature come though though and breast stroked after the mermaid. |

The mermaid giggled at how slowly David was moving, even though he was far exceeding the fastest of Olympic swimmers. However moving through water, even with his superhuman abilities was still rather tough. He kept up pretty well though, even if his guide did have to stop every minute or so to let him catch up. Off in the distance there appeared to be a large underwater city. |

David felt a tad embarrassed. He doubted he could have run as fast as he was swimming before this series of events but still he was dragging his feet here. Still, he continued on his path, there was nothing to do at this point except follow the mermaid. |

The city was carved out of natural rock formations and was comparable in size to the large cities of the surface, one notable difference was that this city was a lot taller. The shortest stone-buildings were at least ten stories high. There was no artificial lighting that David could see, nor were there any vehicles, but there was activity everywhere. Up, down and all around there were mermaids swimming around and through the city. David's guide was swimming there, staring at him. Why wasn't quite clear at that moment. |

As david continued to follow the mermaid he was able to see that quite a few of its ilk were staring at him. he began to wonder if it was curiousity or not. He imagined that there wouldn't be many humans such as he at this depth of water... Wait... It now occurred to him that he probably shouldn't be here either. How is it that he was able to withstand the pressure and lack of air? no... don't think about it. the moment you question it is when reality kicks in and magic stops working... |

Well David was dead, and he didn't notice, but the empty expanses he'd been through actually had no atmosphere to speak of. Pressure? I have no fuggin idea. It's better not to think about it too hard. The mermaid that had brought David to the city gave him a rough tour of it. Enough to give him a general idea of its layout. One thing remained consistent, the other mermaids would give the two very weird looks. They were quite deep in the city when a shadow passes overhead. |

Typical... David thought as he assumed the passing shadow to be an omen of something bad to come. He looked up to try and identify what it was. |

He couldn't tell what had passed, but his mermaid pal seemed to have picked up on it. She pats David's shoulder and gives him a stern look, gesturing for him to stay where he was before swimming off, out of sight. |

David was unsure whether or not he should follow that command. Unknown city where he is getting strange looks and mysterious shadows being cast from above, sitting out in the open seemed counterintuitive given his day had been a series of things trying to kill him and one apparently succeeding. Although, if I am already dead, I suppose I can hardly get into a worse position. He decided to wait as he was told. though he looked around for somewhere to hide if something went down. |

What was odd was that the activity had more or less died down. There were one or two strays, but other than that, complete solitude. After a few minutes, the mermaid returns with a couple of large spears. She holds one out to David with an expecting look. |

David was at least relieved that it appeared this mermaid wasn't going to stab him in the back since it was offering him weaponry. Obviously, the fact that he was going to need a spear wasn't very comforting, but meeting something which didn't have the intention of causing his immediate death was nice. He accepted the weapon with a thankful bow of his head. The problem now was figuring out what he was suppose to be using it on. He hoped it was a giant fish, he owed a little payback after all. |

David felt a distinct change in the currents. Whatever they were preparing for was big. Like really big. A low rumble is felt through the water. Knowing nature, anything that lacks stealth usually makes it up with being a badass mofo. Fair warning. |

David decided to stick with what he knew. Hiding and waiting for the right time to strike. He swam over to somewhere shady and less out in the open so that he wouldn't be a sitting duck whenever this thing appeared. |

The mermaid follows David and they lie in wait. Slowly, the beast comes into view. It was a giant black serpent, at least 10 buses long that looked much like an eel. It's gliding motion carried quite a big of swagger. It was untouchable, and it knew it. Spoiler: click to toggle Enemy: Health: 400/400 Energy: 350/350 Let's Rock! |
