It seemed like almost all the names on David's list corresponded with a being in the book. This didn't bode well.

Actually, this was a good sign. It meant that he could do research in case more of those things showed up. This time he could be prepared. Now he just had to contact Gabriel, Shana and Davina about this. Shana and Gabriel would be easy to meet up with but he wasn't sure how to get in contact with Davina right now.

For now just wait for Shana and Gabriel to return.

Shana was the first to arrive. She goes to the kitchen and takes a seat, relaxing for a couple seconds before noticing she wasn't alone, jolting upright.

"Oh. David. You're early."

"Indeed. And when Gabriel returns I have something important to discuss with the two of you."
He began unpacking his notes and information ready to help him share with them.

"What is it?" Shana asks getting up from her seat, looking over David's shoulder at his notes. If they were written in the english alphabet, she wouldn't be able to read it.

Alas they were written in English. Even if he could read the local language he still naturally wrote in English.
"Well, have you heard about the fire and the 10 people who disappeared last night?"

"Everyone has." A look of irritation flashes across Shana's face upon discovering she couldn't read David's notes, but she otherwise maintained interest in the conversation.

"Well I was the indirect cause of that event. You see back on the day at the beach when we were attacked by the black night I actually got talking to her. Oh yeah, the black night is a girl... And possibly my doppelgänger..."
He drifted off for a moment before catching himself and returning to his original point.
"Anyway, last night she contacted me and together we set out to stop the cultist assassins from doing something. Unfortunately we failed in that regard and they were able to summon a magical being from another world."
He realized that was a pretty big information dump so far, especially with shana's somewhat limited language capacity.
"Are you following me so far?"

Shana was giving him a raised eyebrow and wore a half-grimace, but otherwise looked like she was following along. The mermaid slowly nods.

"Go on. Please." She says a hint of irritation in her voice. I wonder why.

"Okay then." He continued. "This magical being and I fought and luckily with a little help from the black night we were able to send it back to wherever it came from. Now, with the cult destroyed and all the members killed by what they summoned, one could assume that would be he end of it. Unfortunately it isn't. I have reason to believe the mayor of this town was amongst the cultists. In fact in his house I found records showing where similar summonings will be happening all over the country. I have the dates, places and names of the beings that wil be summoned. So now I need to do something about it."

"Why were you..." Shana begins to ask, but then gets stuck on a word as her gestures and vocal inanities made obvious.

He wasn't sure how she wanted to finish that sentence. He decided to just continue.
"The point is, now that I know all this I can't just let it go. I have to do something about it. But I wanted to give you the choice. As soon as I can I am going to set out to try and stop all of these summonings, but you can stay here if you want. I know that you have found a life of sorts here after all."

Shana opens her mouth, leaving it hanging for a second before closing it. She rubs the bridge of her nose a few seconds, eyes closed tight before taking a couple steps towards David and smacking him upside the head.

"I'm a warrior. Reading's fine, but... I'm bored. I'm going."
