David smiled at that. It was just the response he was hoping for. "I'm glad to hear it. No I just need to explain it to Gabriel. He has done so much for us that I owe him an explanation before we leave. And I need to figure out how to get int contact with the black knight again. I couldn't have discovered all this without her." |

Gabriel walked in, rubbing his eyes. "Hey Lad, you're home early." He greets nonchalantly. |

"Indeed." David responded. Now he would have to explain it all over again. And he did so. The black knight, the cult, the demi-god manifestation. The break into the mayor's house and the documents he found. He left out his suspicions about Davina simply because he wasn't sure he was ready to acknowledge them to himself let alone someone else. "...So, as you can see, I can't in good conscience stay here much longer. After I tie up the loose ends I think it is best that I make my way to the other locations and try to stop the other summonings." |

"Uh huh. Well lad, if you are going to try leaving, I can't stop you. You've already done so much by letting me study that intriguing arm of yours. Before you go, I'd buy some supplies using the money you've saved up over the past month. Wait a second." Gabriel hold up his finger and goes over to the pile of books, rearranging them for a few minutes before pulling out a folded up piece of old looking parchment paper. Not old in the ancient way, but old in the 'hasn't been touched in years' way. The old man walks over to David and presents it to him. "A map would do you some good. Here, take it." |

"Excellent. I'm not kidding myself, I know I won't get far with just the two of us. After all, to all the time we have spent in this village, we still know very little about the world beyond this village." David was hoping that Davina would be willing to come with him. If not he would probably need to hire a guide or something. Trusting his own potential sense of direction was really no a safe bet. |

"You may not know. What do you think I've been reading?" Shana pipes in as Gabriel prepares some tea. |

"Well, I guess that is fair. But even so, a few months of research is little compared to a person who has lived in this world their whole life." As he sometimes did, David then proceeded to ramble a bit talking more to himself than anyone else. "Then again, this is a pre-globalized society. Information spread is thin enough that the average person has minimal knowledge outside their area. Moments like this that I miss my technology. Especially the internet where I could learn pretty much anything about anywhere within a few minutes. Doesn't matter, play the hand you are dealt." |

"Uh... huh. Are you staying for tea first, or are you two heading out immediately?" asks Gabriel, still preparing the beverage. |

"I need to make contact with the black knight again before we leave anyway, so I would love a cup of tea." David wasn't entirely sure how to go about accomplishing that though. So far she had always made contact with him, or at best, serendipity had put them in one another's path. Perhaps the tailor would know how to contact her, it would certainly be a good place to start. |

Gabriel finishes preparing the tea and sets out cups for all three of them. He takes a seat at the table along with Shana, taking a long sip, a stern contemplative look on his face. Shana didn't share the expression, but there was definitely something different in her gaze. |

David was still a little turmoiled but not so much that he didn't notice Shana's look. "Something on your mind?" he asked her. "I mean, other than the obvious." This would be the second time David would have suddenly uprooted her since she agreed to come with him. |

"I was just thinking. This might be my last time seeing you two. And right when I had gotten used to having people around the house. I'm going to miss you Lad. And Shana too." The mermaid nods in agreement, sipping her tea. |

David agreed entirely. "I know what you mean. When I first got here I kept saying that it was just temporary. That I was just here until I figured out a way home but as time passed and I found nothing well..." He wasn't quite sure where he was going with it all and trailed off a bit. "I guess what I am trying to say is thank you Gabriel. Not just for helping us adjust to this world but for believing me about everything. You have been a good friend to the both of us." |

"Your welcome lad. It was nice having some intellectuals around." Gabriel finishes the drink and stares into the bottom of his cup. |

"I couldn't agree more. One of my biggest fears when I showed up in this world was getting branded a witch or a heretic as a result of the science of my world that I know." He drained the last little bit in his cup before standing up. "Good to have seen another man of science in this world so I didn't go out of my mind." |
