The God of Conquest

David examined the design and made some assumptions based on the regular features of aquatic life. Unagi had to have gills somewhere, those yellow markings seemed to be them, that was a weakness. It had powerful fish lense eyes that would be able to see through the water better than David could but more importantly those whiskers likely produced a sonar effect. For the first time since he respawned under water david risked speaking and hoped he wouldn't drown by doing so. "Listen," he said to his mermaid companion; "If we are going to take this monster down we need to cut off the whiskers and blind it first. Individual cuts and pokes with these spears won't do much so we should attack the gills next. Make sure it suffocates." |

Drowning? Exhaling a certain way to vibrate vocal chords wouldn't instantly switch off the underwater breathing/Maybe possibly not needing to breath in the first place, you're a silly goose for thinking such. However, all that came out was,"Blub, glub. Glub, glub, glub, glub, glub." The mermaid tilted her head at David's incoherent blubbing and just shrugged. Slowly, she moves through the water approaching below the leviathan. She seemed to be looking for something without hinting off the beast above. |

Talking had failed. David was about to begin the process of using charades to tell her to target the whiskers and eyes but then noticed she seemed to be looking for something. He followed her gaze to try and find out what it might be. |

He couldn't quite tell, but from her body language it looked like she was looking for the right spot to pierce the serpent. |

David tapped her on the shoulder and told her his plan again. this time through interpretive dance! Okay, maybe not... He mimed stabbing the spear and then pointed to his eye hoping she would get the message. |

She looked at David, and moving as slowly as she could nodded her head from side to side. She fell back a bit before her eyes widened with discovery. Aha! She stabbed her spear at a spot David couldn't with see, but the stick went in deep. The mermaid quickly pulled out and pulled David away from the beast. Blood colored the water red, and the serpent began thrashing violently. You Health:190/190 Energy: 230/230 Giant Serpent Health: 337/400 Energy: 350/350 |

That must be a weak spot. I couldn't see anything special though. I guess only a native would know about it. Getting near it while it was thrashing randomly would be ill advised, David decided to wait to attack until he had a clearer shot at it. |

The beast thrashed around a bit before turning around to see its two assailants. It takes off with a frightening amount of speed towards the two. There was an instant to attack or defend. You Health:190/190 Energy: 230/230 Giant Serpent Health: 337/400 Energy: 323/350 |

David decided that a parry followed by an attack was ideal. He was lucky to have a wall at his back which he could kick of of for additional speed in order to try and get above the charging eel and try to stab the spear down into it's eye as he passed. |

When the serpent-eel saw David retreat to about, it abruptly turns to David's left so it wouldn't run head first into the rocks. It was big, not stupid. A head on collision would not end well for it. This turn however makes the spear hit its scales which were quite dense, dealing little damage at all, especially since David wasn't very skilled at underwater combat. The Mermaid was nowhere to be seen. (Note that while underwater your Attack and Speed are roughly halved, although for each specific attack, those figures could rise or lower depending on circumstance) You Health:190/190 Energy: 224/230 Giant Serpent Health: 333/400 Energy: 308/350 |

dangit david thought as he considered how he missed. Stil, considering the circumstances, that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. He was slow under water but so long as he had something to give him a kick start he should at least have the speed necessary to avoid the bite which would undoubtedly end very badly. He quickly moved back over to the wall so that he would have some leverage if the eel came back again. As he glanced around he realized the mermaide was gone. That's strange. he thought to himself. I didn't see her go. Hopefully she had a plan |

The serpent turns towards David and lunges again, this time moving parallel to the stone. It's giant maw was gaping, ready to om nom nom the cyborg. You Health:190/190 Energy: 220/230 Giant Serpent Health: 333/400 Energy: 288/350 |

David knew that if he pushed off the creature would likely just veer off with him again. This time he grabbed a hold of the wall and pushed himself down to try and get below the beast's charge. as he went down he thrust the spear upwards in the hope of piercing the bottom of its mouth. |

David managed to pass under the serpent, however it was more difficult than expected to thrust the spear, botching his timing. The spear missed the bottom of the mouth and hit the neck area. Surprisingly, even the beast's underbelly was quite heavily armored, the spear did only scratch damage. Also, underneath the serpent was the mermaid. It looked like she was searching again. It did look like David served as a pretty good distraction. She looks over at David, and her face contorted into a kind of visual profanity. She began looking faster than before. Damn, that wasn't a weak spot either he thought to himself as he tried to regain his bearings and think of a new approach. Clearly without the mermaid's existing knowledge looking for the weak point she had attacked just wasn't going to happen. He decided to stick with his original thoughts and aim for its eyes. Blinding it should theoretically help. David swam a little distance from where the mermaid was, that way when the eel attacked, even in the worst case scenario it wouldn't take them both out at once. |
