A Death in the Family

Sometime between 11 PM and 12:30 AM on the 27th-28th of April, my aunt and uncles' home caught fire. They are a family of 6. One of my cousins was home at the time. His twin and his fiancee (the twins' fiancee) drove out to the house to see what they could do. By the time they got there the house was completely engulfed in flames. Apparently my cousin didn't make it out. He couldn't be found on the property, and his car was still in the drive. I don't have any other information, but this has been hard on my mother and I, and it has to be even harder on his immediate family.

My uncle is a pastor, and I have no idea what he's doing with his church tomorrow. All I know is that he, his wife, and his 3 children are out of a home and a son and brother. If you're religious, I ask that you pray for their family. If not, please keep them in your mind.

I've dealt with deaths in the family, and I generally come to terms with them quickly. But never have I had to deal with the death of a 20-year-old first cousin who was almost like a brother to me. All I know is that I feel like utter shit at the moment.

I may not be on a bunch in the next week or so. I don't know. If I am, I may be a bit moody.

That sucks, I know what it's like to lose someone close to me and I'm sorry that you have to experience that pain. I hope things brighten up for you Setsu.

Thanks for everything. I'm doing alright aside from feeling like shit and being unable to sleep. The hardest thing is seeing everyone talking about my cousin on Facebook. I'd simply just stay off the site, but it's my main source of news about the family aside from the periodic second hand info my mother gets from her sister.

Friend you can count on.
I am sorry for you and especially them.

I will hope you feel better soon, but don't rush yourself through anything. If you need a long time that is perfectly fine.

There seems to have been some misinformation. Nothing has changed, but apparently all 4 of them were home, not just 1. I've been with them since 4:30 PM yesterday. It's pretty rough. His siblings are taking it alright. About as well as I am. Especially his little sister.

Aaaand, about a minute ago, we were cooking bacon, and the fire alarm went off and freaked people out. They could have done without that.

Just work on keeping yourself together. It's good that you're all with each other. We'll hold down fort here if you need to take some time.
