Ok, not really because lazy, but because I've already made so many that I'm running dry and I need more, but I don't have the time to write down what I have so far, and yeah. Anyway, I have this world I made a little while ago for an RP project called Tamers. Basic premise: Think Pokemon, but more adult and mature, in a Victorian setting with magic. I might bring it over here in the future, and things will be awesome, but for now, I need to really fill out my bestiary, so I'm taking monster suggestions. :D Here's a quote from the beginning of the bestiary to help you get an idea of how things are.

Spoiler: click to toggle

Now here's the template.

Code:

[b]Species:[/b] What is the creature called?
[b]Sub-Type:[/b] Are there multiple variants of the monster?
[b]Rank:[/b] Ranks are ordered 0-15, with the larger the number, the more dangerous the creature. 10 and above are considered legendary. 5 is the highest allowed for a guardian you can start with. Rankings are not necessarily set in stone, nor is the progression necessarily linear.
[b]Location:[/b] In what areas/type of climates can they be found?
[b]Appearance:[/b] A thorough description of what the species looks like.
[b]Behaviors:[/b] How do they generally act?
[b]Abilities and Powers:[/b] What can they do?

A couple disclaimers for you:
  • Don't make any entries for dragons, angels, or demons. They haven't been made yet, but I have specific plans for them.
  • A list of "classic" monsters that already have entries are goblins, tribbles (yes, tribbles), gargoyles, giant spiders, thunder eagles, and rocs. Just letting you know so that you don't reinvent the wheel.
  • The ranks that currently have no monster entries (and thus really need them) are 1, 7, 9, 10, 12, and 14. However, I'd like lower ranks to get filled out before legendary ones.
  • Have fun, and I really appreciate the help!

Monster #1
Species: Psycho Crystal(if you can think of something better, be my guest)
Sub-Type: N/A
Rank: 7
Location: Appears naturally in frigid environments like the Arctic Circle, but can survive in any suitably dry climate. Caution must be exercised when introducing wild specimens into a new location.
Appearance: This species is a collection of glowing purple-pink crystals, all bound together loosely in a dark cloud of plasma. The crystals vary in size from the size of a piece of rock salt to baseball sized ones. In the middle of the plasma cloud is a single giant crystal that serves as the core. This one will change size based on age, relatively young creatures will have a core roughly the size of a human head, truly ancient specimens can have a core as large as 2 meters across.
Behaviors: The crystals are confirmed to be sentient, thus do not actively attack unless provoked. When not provoked, the crystals will simply roam about. However, walking to close to one or making loud noises will anger the crystal, wherein it will attack its target aggressively. It can be difficult to earn the trust of this creature, mostly because people have a hard time connecting with such an alien beast, but an allied crystal is a great ally to have. Do note that just because the beast trusts you doesn't mean it trusts everyone around you. Be careful around people.
Abilities and Powers: Each individual crystal contained within the collective generates a set amount of psychic energy at any given time, when combined into a whole, a network is formed, creating a singular mind that can effectively put the psychic energy to use. Therefore, this species is a very formidable mental foe, able to read emotions of those around it, perform telekinesis, use smaller crystals as projectiles, and even fire a psychic pulse in every direction as a defense mechanism, disorienting those caught in its wake. However, the beast itself can be quite fragile, damaging the core can slow down the rate at which everything moves, even destroying the "network" entirely, rendering the creature into a pile of psychically charged crystals.

Monster #2
Species: Rock Snake
Sub-Type: Whitesnake N/A
Rank: 1
Location: Temperate Forests and grasslands
Appearance: Appears as a small, plain brown snake of about 3 feet long max.
Behaviors: Rock Snakes are devious fiends that hide in holes in the ground, throwing rocks at random passerbys out of pure spite. If its prey flees, the Rock Snake will give chase relentlessly.
Abilities and Powers: The rock snake can throw rocks from their mouths with surprising accuracy, able to hit somebody's ankle from 30 feet away. The rock snake can also tuck its tail into its mouth, forming a wheel that it can use to chase cowardly prey.

Monster #3
Species: Earth Tortoise(better names for these are also welcome)
Sub-Type: Volcanic Tortoise(ditto)
Rank: 5
Location: Earth Tortoise are found in deserts and wastelands, while Volcanic Tortoise are found near geothermic vents and by active volcanoes.
Appearance: The Earth Tortoise is a simple beast. It looks like a normal tortoise (an Aldabra Giant Tortoise to be specific) except bigger. Instead of the 120cm length of the normal(male, females are 90 cm) variety, the Earth tortoise is roughly 210cm long(females are 185cm). The Earth Tortoise also differs in coloration. It is a light brown color all over, giving it better camouflage in the desert. Volcanic Tortoise are black like obsidian.
Behaviors: Both varieties of tortoise are rather docile, preferring to run or hide rather than fight. They spend their days eating(Both tortoise eat minerals. Volcanic tortoise can eat raw iron while Earth Tortoise must stick with softer materials), regulation their body temperature and sleeping. The tortoise remain solitary, although Volcanic tortoise are known to form temporary herds near volcanoes. An angered tortoise is a thing to behold, capable of demolishing nearly anything smaller than it with frightening ease. Luckily, they prefer remaining calm and dependable. They make great pets for less active people, and can even be ridden(don't expect to get anywhere soon).
Abilities and Powers: Both varieties of Earth Tortoise are incredibly durable, taking the harshest weather conditions easily, along with great resistance against sharp claws and talons. The shell is even more impressive, scoring an 8 on Moh's scale. Other than that and their great strength(really, really strong when they put their mind to it), the Earth tortoise has no other abilities, although the Volcanic Tortoise can blow high pressure steam out of its nostrils.

Tell me if any of them need expansion.

For reals though:

Species: Blank
Sub-Type: Giant Blank. Bestial Blank.
Rank: 5
Location: They spread throughout multiple climates, though regular Blanks are often found near human towns or cities.
Appearance: Like nothing. Or rather, they are invisible. The only visible part of the Blank is a purple, diamond shaped core. They have the build of apes with large upper bodies and small lower bodies. The core shines when they are displaying emotion. The sub-types are essentially the same, but their invisible body shape is different.
Behaviors: Blanks are generally either passive or mischievous. They use their invisible bodies to allow themselves into all sorts of situations and to mess with other beings.
Abilities and Powers: They have above average strength. Aside from that, their only real power is the fact that their bodies are almost completely invisible aside from their cores.

Species: Storm Mink
Sub-Type: No.
Rank: 11
Location: Forests
Appearance: A small, white, weasel-like creature with long, silky fur. It has a pointy nose and bright yellow eyes. When it is enraged, it's fur turns black.
Behaviors: It is a docile creature that lives lazily in natural habitats. However, if the Storm Mink is ever angered or threatened, it will attack with aggrevation with it's powers, often leading to mass destruction.
Abilities and Powers: As the name suggests, the Storm Mink has the ability to create and control storms. It creates it's own weather patterns, swirling tornadoes, lightning storms, torrential rain, etc. It can even target the effects of the weather within 5 feet of a target.

The God of Conquest
Species:
Mouse
Sub-Type:
Super-intelligent variety?
Rank:
3
Location:
They can endure in most environments. Certainly been in all the major cities on Earth for thousands of years (though tend to be incognito).
Appearance:
Small, furry, white, general look of mousiness.
Behaviors:
These creatures tend to act as a large community of at least 100. While they act independently, it is rare for any to act against the pack. Being small in size but large in mind the tend to do most of their work from the shadows. They are efficient and stealthy going unnoticed if they wish but equally effective at making people disappear without a trace. When threatened directly they are rather cowardly unless they have a large group to back them up though. They are not inherently aggressive creatures but are highly vindictive. If even one of their lot is threatened or hurt they will return the favour tenfold.
Abilities and Powers:
Being mice they are small in stature and strength. Individually they are very much lacking in any real threat. However, once you gather 10 or more in a single place their potential for direct aggression becomes far more dangerous. They are quick and have good reflexes. They tend to be surprisingly tech savvy and can create various machines to perform functions their own physical limitations prevent though being rodents this can take a great deal of time to accomplish. They can speak languages other than mouse but tend not to unless necessary, no sense revealing themselves after all. Due to their intelligence and tendency to be rather cowardly they often spend far too long scouting and studying an enemy before they attack and then putting all their eggs into one plan. If this plan fails then once more they will flee en masse.

The God of Conquest
Species:
Lukthar (luke-thar)
Sub-Type:
humanoid
Rank:
8
Location:
Inter-galactic
Appearance:
The Lukthar are humanoid creatures though could not be confused for a human. The have two arms each capped with a 6 fingered hand (though no fingernails) and two legs tipped with talon-like feet. They are of similar size to a human though a little smaller than average. Their skin varies in tone from blue to green as they age. The more green one is the greater social status and honours are given to them. The face of a Lukthar possesses 2 eyes, a nose with only one nostril and a mouth.

Behaviors:
The Lukthar are often known as the Knowledge Seekers. They are renowned for their neverending quest to fill their libraries with all the knowledge of all the species in the universe and can be quite ruthless to this end. They are willing to do anything to learn what they can about a species. This can be as simple as talking to them or as complicated as kidnapping a large number of the species in order to perform all manner of scientific study upon them. No moral boundary was ever established in the search for new knowledge for them. They are highly logical and efficient, rarely ever indulging in an emotional affair.

Because of the vastness of the universe in which they search they tend to travel in small parties of no more than 3 to a ship. Ships rarely travel in a fleet because it is less efficient. They are not big risk takers and if a ship disappears they will leave the location of its disappearance without invesitgating for 100 years before sending a new ship to see what may have happened and investigate the area further with whatever new technology has been acquired.
Abilities and Powers:
Because of the many years which they have been studying so many races they are extremely technologically advanced. While they lack many genetic advantages their technology would put them many 10s of thousands of years ahead of earth's. They are able to survive in many climates and conditions and the only weakness is the extremely spread out nature can leave them undermanned if they face trouble.

Hmm. Mayhaps it would be best for me to put up a link to the current location of Tamers for you all to get a better grasp of the world and what lies within it. http://w11.zetaboards.com/Creators_Commons/forum/3705735/

As long as they aren't demonic, angelic, or extraterrestrial in origin, pretty much anything is fair game. We already have a few aquatic creatures, so yeah.
