Giant Chocolate Malt Cookies

1 c butter flavored shortening
1 1/4 c brown sugar, packed
1/2 c malted milk powder
2 tbsp chocolate syrup
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 egg
2 c all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 c semi sweet chocolate chunks
1 c milk chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Combine first 5 ingredients in a large mixing bowl; blend for 2 minutes. Add egg; blend well and set aside. Mix flour, baking soda and salt together; gradually blend into the creamed mixture. Fold in chocolates; shape doug into 2 inch balls. Arrange 3 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets; bake for 12 to 14 minutes. Cool for 2 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
