Not everyone's a Tolkien expert, and some people (like me) have tried and failed to read the amazingly complicated work which is the Silmarillion. This is the thread where we can ask the experts for help. |

This is a question thread? If so, then I have one. Would you say that having twins is an elvish trait or a human trait? |

I would say it's more human, because elves don't really come across as being prolific breeders. That being said, there are some elven twins which Tolkien have mentioned, most notably Elladan and Elrohir (and I've forgotten the other pair). |

Elrond and Elros? Is that the other pair you're looking for, Tel? |

What about the two youngest sons of Feanor, Amrod and Amras? They were also twins. And then don't forget the sons of Dior, Elurin and Elured. |

Ye I'd say it's more an Elvish trait as more of the elves mentioned are twins eg Elladan and Elrohir, Elrond and Elros, Amrod and Amras. Even though Elrond/Elros and Elladan/Elrohir have human blood from that time which I seem to have forgotten they also have Elvish blood and weighing it up then I'd day it was Elvish because (I don't think) none of the purely human couples are said to have twins. |

So, I'm starting my little re-writes of "What the Heck?" You know, writing the scenes as they should've happened. And since I figure Jessica and Katelyn would have trouble communicating with the people of Middle-earth upon arrival, the elves of Rivendell would give them names. So...does anyone know where I can find some Sindar names that mean: "She who talks" (I found one that is close: Pedivaeriel, but if anyone knows a better one, I'd appreciate it) and "Shadow" or "Second One" Thanks! |

Hey there, could some one help me with a little problem? See I'm sure I read somewhere that even though Legolas lives and acts alot like a wodd-elf he in fact is a different sort, Noldor or something. Could someone please tell me if this is true and also what sort of elf he is actually? |

Yes, Sian, it's true that he's not a wood-elf. His father Thranduil is Sindarin, so that would make him Sindarin too, although it is possible that his mother is a wood-elf. |

Sindarian, that's the one. I knew it wasn't Noldor because that's Elrond. I knew it was something about him not being a wood-elf and that was why he felt the pull towards the sea ever since he heard the cry of the seagulls. |
