Or they could have evolved and changed. There's no garantee their tobacco was like ours.

Potatoes and tobacco--

Potatoes. I never think much about them. *sheepish grin*

Tobacco--I think of tobacco as different from what the ME-ians smoke.

Then again, I don't think too much about these two things. I'm mostly concentrating on trying to figure out Sindarin, Elves, and the Númenóreans.

Is Elrohir older than Elladan or is it the other way around?
Merlin: Thank you.
Arthur: For what? For lying to my father to save your worthless hide? If you ever put me in that situation again, Merlin, I will clap you irons myself.

I'd always thought that Elladan was older. But I could be wrong.

Tolkien never said. But, usually, when the twins are listed, Elladan is first. It's a generally accepted that Elladan is the firstborn, and the more "aggressive" of the two, while Elrohir is the gentler one. That probably stemmed from their names. Elladan means "Elf-man," and Elrohir means "Elf-rider" or "Elf-knight."

Thank you. I didn't think it was mentioned, but I was just checking.

What colour was Sam Gamgee's hair?

I'm pretty sure it was brown (and thus I can laugh at the dumb author who called him a red head) but I'd like to be certain.
Maybe you've heard of a terrible place where the scoundels of Paris collect in a lair
Maybe you've heard of that mythical place called the Court of Miracles

Hello, you're there

Most likely. Nearly all hobbits had brown hair before the Ring war.

I'm almost sure it was brown, in the books anyway.
