Internet has more choice, and if you buy from popular sites you can usually be certain it's not broken or ripped.

I wanted to bring the Silmarillion with me when I went on vacation, but the library didn't have it in. So I took the Hobbit instead. Great book! I loved the talk with Smaug most of all. Conversations with dragons are... interesting to say the least.

The Hobbit is fantastic! Though, as a kid, I remember being frightened of the goblins and orcs during the film...and all that singing... *shudder*

*goes to find it online* I've only seen the weird animated Lord of the Rings. Which was worse for me to watch than Peter Jackson's.

Oh and to put my 2 cents worth in about the Silm, I'm not sure if I've finished it yet (I lost my copy) but I found it easier to read than Lord of the Rings (which I defiantly haven't finished as I also lost that). In fact I liked the Silm so much I'm going to read 'The Children of Hurin' after the Star Wars books I've got to read.
Merlin: Thank you.
Arthur: For what? For lying to my father to save your worthless hide? If you ever put me in that situation again, Merlin, I will clap you irons myself.
Merlin, Series 2

David: Oh and John. My TARDIS... mine. Say sorry.
John: Sorry.

I'm sure you can find the animated version of the Hobbit online somewhere. I'll give it a look sometime. It's freakin creepy!!

Right now I'm reading a Lewis Black book, but after that I'm going to reread the Silm. Such a good read.... :) My only fangirlish scream comes from that book. 20 dollars (in your local currency) if you can figure out where. ;)

I remember reading The Hobbit quite a while ago. I even had it in English :) And I must say, I quite enjoyed it :)
