Okay. Don't be afraid to be brutually honest if need be. While it's a few years old and I'd like to believe I've improved some, I'd still like to know if you have any tips. |

*gags* This story gets worse and worse. Jules, you are very brave to take this one. Had you been a Deleterian sporker, this probably would earn you the Purple Spork. |

I've never been a Deleterius sporker, but this was sporked on Deleterius by malganis, so it might have won her the purple spork. At any rate, this is one of the hardest fics I've ever had to get through, worse than "Violation of the Evenstar" or "An Elf's Love," just because the chapters drag on so long. |

Ugh, that was so disgusting I don't think I've ever come so close to throwing up since the last time I tried to make it through Violation of the Evenstar. I hope Boromir went some place really comforting, he needs it! Congrats on making it through this. I think that even though she took it down, the author probably still doesn't know what was so wrong with it. There are reasons I wouldn't touch stories like this...you're brave, Jules. I'll stick to the type of wrong that is Sarifina's writing, thank you very much. |

Uh oh... now that was... well, creepy, awful, perverted, anything you can mention. Excellent MST, however. My favourite bits:
Yeah, Denethor may have been cold, arrogant and depressed, but he still wasn't any bloody rapist.
Hmm, somehow I don't see the Nazgûl being very sensitive or politically correct persons.
LOL, that's precisely the reason why I shave my sideburns off when they grow too much.
Actually, it's not that uncommon for boys of ten to have bruises. I, for one, often had some since the war games I played with my pals sometimes escalated into fistfights or wrestling. Heck, I once was even hit in the head with a wooden rifle. There were other pastimes, too, which led to mild injuries sometimes. As I said, brilliant MST! It's good you drove some sense to Luinil's head with that review. One stain less in Tolkien fandom. Well, what next? |

I understand. I had the exact same reaction reading this fic as I did reading Violation: I actually felt dirty. I was not exaggerating in the MST when I said I felt like the fic had left a slimy residue on my skin: I seriously needed a shower.
I hope so too. I'm not sure where he's going first, but I have the strangest feeling that later on, he's going to meet Aragorn in that bar and go on a pod!character killing spree with him.
Thanks. As I said, this was one of the hardest fics I've ever had to get through, and it wasn't just because of the rape scene and spanking scene. There are so many nasty little touches Luinil put in: Boromir's "firm golden buttocks," Frodo's whiny pro-gay speech, Aragorn's creepy pet names for Boromir (I think I really would have gotten violent if I'd had to read "little fledgling" just one more time), the Disney-style song, the infamous jackhammer comparison...the list goes on. I felt like I was reading a badfic written on purpose to teach authors how NOT to write slash.
Amen. And like I keep saying, he deserves pity, because he's been through some damn tough stuff. I mean, even his own father preferred Thorongil to him, so of course he's not going to like the man!
You're right. In fact, you should hear Boris whenever we're not in the theater...he tones down his insensitivity while we're being read by people online (he doesn't want to get sued, after all), but his true colors really shine through when we're not MSTing.
*slaps self for oversight* You're right again, Caranthol. I forgot how much ten-year-old boys play rough with each other. Of course, I don't think Luinil understands how the ten-year-old boy's mind works: he hates being babied (hence all the boys I remember whining, "Mom, stop it!" when their mothers tried to kiss them in public), so Boromir would hate Aragorn's touchy-feeliness and cute little nicknames. Moreover, I'm pretty sure that not only would Boromir be playing rough at age ten, but would be learning how to use a sword as well, so mild injuries would be expected. And even if the rape had truly traumatized him, he would be terrified and withdrawn ALL THE TIME. He wouldn't just happily run greet Aragorn and beg him for a present, then snap into traumatized-child mode as soon as he sees Denethor. It's like I said: from all Luinil's description of Boromir's "baby-soft skin" and how Aragorn helps him bathe, I don't think she really planned on making Boromir ten. It reminds me of "Two Hearts, One Soul": Melody is supposed to be eight, but she still sucks her thumb, has a lisp, and has to be carried everywhere like a rag doll. |

Aragorn can use the company. I think he also found out about Freda/Laythia, so he's probably on a quest to destroy her as well.
That's how I sometimes felt about Love or Duty in the beginning until Sarifina really started to mess with Tolkien's canon. |

Oh, God, you mean Sarifina messes with canon more than she has already? I mean, after she puts a new race in Middle-earth, pretty much throws the Valar out the window, makes her Sue not only the Ring-bearer but the ex-girlfriend of Sauron...things actually get worse? |

Well, if she does, I haven't gotten to it yet. But that's the basic of what I meant by really messing with Tolkien. Right now, I'm dealing with a conversation between Laythia and Elrond where he tells Laythia to leave Legolas alone because her people will not accept him and it'll break his heart. Elrond wants to spare his "only sister's only son" from that pain and not caring at all that he just signed up to go on a quest where death is an inevitability. And then he pleads with Laythia to not go on the quest because her people need her but he's willing to let his "nephew" go to Mordor. |

I think 'loathe' sums it up better. Hate is used far too often nowadays. ?there ws one line on the MST that really made me laugh, but I'm not going back to find it. |
