I'd offer my first LOTR OC for sporking, but Ara would eat me alive, LOL :P (I'll be brave and admit she's a BIT of a self-insert... Just a bit, though!!)

I would spork mine, but I usually get disgusted and delete them. Fortunately, the Sue that tops all Sue's never made it to paper. Otherwise I'd say have at it.

What I find highly ironic is that the Suethor asked what a MS was so that she could avoid creating one.

Then completely ignored all advice?

I'd say so. I'm surprised it's still up, to be honest.

They didn't get much in the way of advice. All the reviews seem to go along the lines of either 'Write moar!' or 'It's a MS but who cares? I love it!'

Urgh, just read more of Princess of Shadowfire. Drizzt is going to be pissed. She's from his realm apparently and has artifacts that don't exist.

Yeeeeech. *shudders* "Hope Within" hasn't been updated in a while, so I might let my team at this one. Glorfindel's gonna have a field day with this... at least there's actual Elvish in here!

*pats Drizzt on shoulder* I have no idea what all's in D&D (besides Godmodded!Sues), but the Suethor keeps trying to get me to look it up to prove her OC's not a Sue. All she's done is convince me that I want nothing to do with D&D... (The sequels don't get any better. The third story is a multi-crossover with pretty much every fandom in existence.)

Same here. Is it really so hard to understand the idea that authors are supposed to have done the research and that readers should not have to do it? It's her job to make sure we understand her other fandom.

She keeps on claiming that it's a crossover, but her story has everything that shouldn't be in a crossover (i.e. have one fandom lord it over another, introducing an OC from crossed-over fandom just so said OC might have powers from other fandom, not embedding information about other fandom within the text itself).

She is a Sue. I have read D&D and believe me, she's a Sue. There are so many implausibilities and plot holes it's a wonder the Sue doesn't trip over them. I wrote her a nice long review and got a reply back. It wasn't as rude as some I've ran into, and she did say something about rewriting it. Personally I thought it sounded a bit like she was surprised that someone else had actually recognized where the Sue was from. At least she admits it's not perfect, so there's hope yet.

The series is actually pretty good, especially the portion by RA Salvatore. In the right hands a crossover would be possible since mages were known for dimension travelling. Not like Darla was doing it, but it is possible.

Hmm, I might try reading the series then.

I rank it right under Tolkien so it's good. It gets depressing towards the end because Salvatore starts killing everybody off, but other than that.....

I am not sporking the Princess of Shadowfire by the way. The author asked me quite nicely (And it was nice considering that I accused Darla of being a MS) to help her improve her series. I'm praying she means to rewrite it.

This one's already a rewrite, I think. The first time there was a huge character profile of Darla, listing all her names and all her weapons.

EDIT: Found the Deleterius entry for the original. http://community.livejournal.com/deleteriu...thread=65613711

Yes, I know she's a rewrite. Said author told me that in fact. She wants me to got through her sequels and find other implausibilities. I'm thinking about asking to be her beta because she could seriously use one. We've been discussing things to make the story sound more realistic.
