Tragedy, character death and a lot of emotional angst (or angsty emotions?) work wonders. If you like Star Wars, might I recommend my baby "Missing" and it's collection of one-shots "No Longer Missing"? (The deathfic that made everyone bawl is Chapter 3 of NLM)

I haven't watched Star Wars since I was little, so I can't exactly read it.

I'm going to kill somebody, but I have to decide on a fandom and who.

I mostly read LOTR, but I haven't written for a single fandom more than once.

I was going to put The Fellowship's Bliss in here, but I wasn't sure how bad it was.

Ah, gotcha. Any other books or movies that you like and could write fanfiction for?

It's a GIME Sue. And a Legomance. At least the grammar is decent. It's up for debate... *sighs and headdesks*

But if Legomances and Mary Sues qualify no matter the grammar, then wouldn't other fics such as Twilight Heaven qualify too?

I like reading Alex Rider and Ranger's Apprentice fanfics.

Maybe, I guess. *shrugs* I can deal with the well-written ones.

Ah, kewl. Have you thought about writing for them?

(In my original story, I'm going to make my readers think I'm killing off one of my main characters, who is also the love object. ;))

The thing I hate the most about MS is how they are always described as being absolutely perfect and the fact that nobody ever seems suspicious of why they found a girl in weird clothes with no weapons or horse wandering in the woods.

I've written one for Alex Rider, but not Ranger's Apprentice.

(I hate it when authors do that. In the last two books I've read that has happened.)

Or alternatively, in Moria. *sighs and headdesks*

Kewl!

(I'll bring him back in Book T- Wait, did I say that out loud? *furtive glance* You read nothing! :P)

But normally it's wandering around in the woods. Or Gandalf brings her. *headdesks*

Or she's a long-lost relative of Elrond/Galadriel/Legolas/Boromir/Aragorn/Frodo. *headdesks again*

(Nope, not at all. :P)

I think all Suethors should read this: "Maybe the fault lies with a hundred thousand middle school teachers who, with the best intentions, try to every day to make writing or painting or singing or acting or dancing less intimidating by telling kids that it's all about letting whatever's inside you come out to play. And that can be great advice, but when you find yourself under a spotlight...the line between self-expression and self-absorption is very thin, and the road to pathological narcissism isn't long and winding but perilously short."

Written by Mark Harris for "Entertainment Weekly." It's in an article about American Idol and how much it sucks this year, but I think it applies to the Suethors out there as well.
You are the music while the music lasts--T.S. Eliot

"Stop the damn texting and pick up a book!"--Grandmama, "The Addams Family" (Musical)

"Tomorrow will be better for as long as America keeps alive the ideals of freedom and a better life." —Walt Disney

"I wake in the loneliness of sunrise
When the deep purple heaven turns blue
And start to pray
As I pray each day
That I’ll hear some word from you

I lie in the loneliness of evening
Looking out on a silver-flaked sea
And ask the moon
Oh how soon, how soon
Will my love come home to me"--"Loneliness of Evening," Cinderella

You have brought us
Safe to shore
Be our strength and protection ever more.

I think that summs it up perfectly Mac.
If I promise not to kill you can I have a hug?

My favorite thing about eating gummy bears is that they don't fight back when bite their heads off

Teddies don't hug back, but sometimes they're all you have...

Joker: You know, there are three kinds of people in this world. The optomistic that find the glass half full, and the pessimistic that see it as half empty. Then there's the paranoid, and they just think someone's drinking out of their glass.

Corrigan: Huh, then which one are you?

Joker: I'm the one who knocks the glass over.

"The Fellowship's Bliss" sounds like the same title tactic as "The Joker's Destini". Hopefully it's not as horribly bad. . .
