If I promise not to kill you can I have a hug? My favorite thing about eating gummy bears is that they don't fight back when bite their heads off Teddies don't hug back, but sometimes they're all you have... Joker: You know, there are three kinds of people in this world. The optomistic that find the glass half full, and the pessimistic that see it as half empty. Then there's the paranoid, and they just think someone's drinking out of their glass. Corrigan: Huh, then which one are you? Joker: I'm the one who knocks the glass over. ~ The Joker Blogs. | |

Ha, SNAP! Am I correct in guessing that those relationships ended rather quickly? |

you are indeed correct Xaja... they ended right after the guys finished telling them what tight biatches they were... which took about ten minutes seriously, the guys were not amused

Good on the boys for that! I wouldn't want to even associate with someone like those biatches, much less admit to dating them... |

Paying Tribute to the Past

It's not fun having Asperger, because if you have a light form of it people won't think you have autism, they just think you're odd, or that your behaviour is done on purpose to annoy others. Far from it. We only discovered I had Asperger when I was 14. And only for 5% or so. Still enough to make school life hell. It sucks, you know, when you take some words in their literal meaning and thus can't laugh with the joke your fellow classmen make. Then they'll think "oh look, our sense of humor isn't good enough for him". And we know how youngsters these days think about those who are even the slightest bit different, right? I hated, absolutely loathed, my years on secundary school. My 14th lifeyear was hell. After that, I got into a very good class, with wonderful people, but then the courses started to suck. I never had any luck when it came to school. ED must die. |

I know exactly what you mean... I was diagnosed when I was 12, but I am a full on Aspie. School completely sucked until I began home schooling. Seriously, I only had one good friend in school until half way through year eight, she was the one person who thought having Asperger's was awesome. Everyone else labeled me as a weirdo and avoided me. Half way throught year eight (Which is when the girls gave me the article) though two of the boys found out they were aspies as well, so after that the guys looked after me. Everything's fine now, because 90% of the people I'm with have Asperger's, which is great! Most people in the public schools these days are completely heartless, it's so hard to believe humans could be that way to one another! Yes.. down with ED... I just looked up religions on google and they came up... they are so tight about some, in particular the Catholic faith...

It's worse at my school. People go out of their way to "befriend" the autistic students. Then they laugh at them and talk about them behind their backs. I once saw one girl run out of the room crying because she overheard one of them. |

I don't know. I just looked it up and that's pretty funny. Basically describes the parish I left. What a laugh. I did need that this morning. My boyfriend is a mentor to a boy with Asperger's. He's nice... had his moments where he punched my boyfriend in the face...and yells at you if you say anything wrong about Republicans... but other than that.

Ain't it cool, Mae?! Best two seconds ever! (And thanks for reviewing the 'Hiccups' series, that made my day :)) And Daisy, I love TobyMac! Have you heard his new CD?That... Words fail me at how underhanded and cruel people can be concerning something that isn't even another person's fault. I don't think I know anyone with Asperger's, but a lot of my friends are ADD or ADHD. I myself struggled with depression and still have bouts of it occasionaly, enough that my parents ordered me to have a suicide hotline speed-dialed into my phone. I just got bullied really badly in elementary school for being short, a slow athlete and a nerd (not to mention really arachnophobic), so my parents pulled me out into homeschooling for a few years before switching me to another high school. That was me without any form of autism or learning disability... I hate to think what my old class would have done to an aspie. I used to have nightmares about those kids... When I worked at the aquatic centre, there was this one guy who came in a lot for water therapy. He was wheelchair bound and had something going on with his brain or speech or something. I never figured out what he had. The lifeguards treated him better than his mother. I could hear her yelling at him in the changerooms and it nearly made me cry. Why the hell hasn't ED been taken off the Internet yet?? *headdesks* |

Because it's not technically illegal. Although if they said that Tolkien didn't write LOTR until he saw HP, that's just amusing. *laughs* However, many of the comments are utterly disrespectful and just cruel. They often target people personally and threaten them. |

I wouldn't be surprised if those people were also the ones that bought video games depicting the Columbine High massacre. I can't think of any suitable four-letter words to describe them... |

That bit about lord of the rings being based off of Harry Potter wouldn't be so bad if every moron who thought they were funny hadn't already said the same thing. I now suspect my grandmother has Asperger's syndrome. No matter how many times I tell her that I don't give a shit about jewellry-making, gardening, cattle, photography, and sewing, she still tries to get me to do them. I hate it when she calls cause it's generally when I'm trying to do hw and it takes half an hour to get away from the phone. I can think of lots of 8-letter words to call them. |

That might also be Alzeheimer's. My grandma has a variation of it, or something else that's killing her. There were times when she'd get my mom and my aunt confused every five minutes or so. Now I think she remembers nearly everything, but she's wheelchair bound and can barely speak. She needs to have 24-hour care. And after the hospital scare in December... I'm really worried about her... |
