Hello friend,

Welcome to the archives of Renatia Nova, the third edition of the epic roleplaying franchise created by -DS- in 2008.

Over the past four years hundreds of people around the world have joined together to participate in the art of world-crafting, of collaborative storywriting, and above all epic role playing in a play-by-post environment. This forum is one of many similar realms created entirely from the imaginations of its inhabitants, an impressive plethora of crafted nations that include cultures, characters, languages, maps, as well as a whole other assortment of data entirely up to the author to synthesize.

Nation-State Play-By-Post Roleplaying (NS-PBP-RP) remains a very entertaining, intellectually stimulating, and educational experience that leaves us wanting for more. Bar none the best part of the entire genre is the fan-base, the community, and the people I've met along the way in sharing our common interest.

Renatia deserves another chance. We all deserve the opportunity to relive the world we created. Check back soon for exciting news.

Sincerely,

Freeman

Deep in the Meridic Ocean, where no human ever comes and where a whole different world exists that is untouched by mankind, we find a paradise so beautiful that it cannot be described in mere words. All we can do is to follow the fishes, who all move in one direction. In their search for heaven they all head for the same direction: the island known by the name Atlantis...

Atlantis

Orithyia watched at the rough waves of the Meridic Ocean as the sun was down. It was the darkest night she had ever seen. The sea was restless, yet so peaceful and at the same time so destructive. It was mighty and powerful in all aspects, one could not watch the sea without having awe.

Orithyia was from Atlantis. To many, Atlantis was the island of dreams. And it was, it really was. The palaces had been freshly painted, the sheets had never been slept in, the silver had never been used. To Orithyia it was a slave island, with the ocean as a natural prison. Outwardly, she was everything a well brought up girl should be. Inside, she was screaming.

Orithyia was a young princess, daughter of a Klawiphoros, or Key bearer. There were 7 key bearers on Atlantis - female priests who had the ''keys'' and access to the spiritual world. But Orithyia was deeply unhappy. Her life was an endless parade of parties and cotillions, yachts and polo matches. Always the same narrow people, the same mindless chatter. She felt like she was standing at a great precipice, with no one to pull her back, no one who cared... or even noticed. If this was the meaning of her life, then it was not life to her. She had to escape. She had to break out of this prison.

At just 50 meters away from the rock where Orithyia was looking out over the rough sea, three young men were laying on the beach, in the warm sand with a camp fire. Their names were Aetes, Phileas and Idas.

Aetes was joking around, telling funny stories, good stories of him and his crazy friends who fooled around with everyone. Idas couldn't get enough of Aetes' stories, but Phileas, Phileas was not listening.

''Dude, did you even hear what I was saying?'', reproached Aetes after noticing that Phileas didn't roll on the floor laughing about his story.
Phileas woke up from his trance. How long had he been staring at the girl on the rock? Phileas recovered himself, and pretended he had heard the whole story. ''Oh, hahaha now I get it.'', he acted.

Aetes looked at him as if he was mentally retarded. For a moment Phileas' eyes found the beauty on the rock again, and Aetes followed Phileas' eyes. ''The predator has found his prey'', said Aetes with a grin on his face.

''Ah, forget it, boyo. You're as like to have angels fly out your arse as get next to the likes of her.'', said Idas.

Phileas smiled. He tried to put the girl out of his mind, but something inside him said that this girl must have been one of those mysteries that surround this island. The people of Atlantis were almost used to living with mysteries. They did not know how their kind ended up on this island on the first place, how it got so wealthy and rich, why it was never conquered by barbarians and so on. These were only a few mysteries that surrounded Atlantis. Phileas believed that the girl on the rock was also one of those mysteries. She was young, beautiful, beautifully dressed yet she seemed lonely, unhappy. Who was she?

To be continued.
