Hello friend,
Welcome to the archives of Renatia Nova, the third edition of the epic roleplaying franchise created by -DS- in 2008.
Over the past four years hundreds of people around the world have joined together to participate in the art of world-crafting, of collaborative storywriting, and above all epic role playing in a play-by-post environment. This forum is one of many similar realms created entirely from the imaginations of its inhabitants, an impressive plethora of crafted nations that include cultures, characters, languages, maps, as well as a whole other assortment of data entirely up to the author to synthesize.
Nation-State Play-By-Post Roleplaying (NS-PBP-RP) remains a very entertaining, intellectually stimulating, and educational experience that leaves us wanting for more. Bar none the best part of the entire genre is the fan-base, the community, and the people I've met along the way in sharing our common interest.
Renatia deserves another chance. We all deserve the opportunity to relive the world we created. Check back soon for exciting news.
Sincerely,
Freeman

((OOC: I know these are a little late. I was hoping to wrap up the biz with Takaanis before doing elections, but lo! I Cannot. So these are taking place in 75 AE, the Takaanis dispute still under way, etc etc))
Elections in Graanid!
It is time for elections in Graanid. Every province votes a little differently. To fill the legislatures, citizens vote for parties. For executive positions, the elect a ticket. Here are the campaign tickets for this election!
Sedon Chider - Conservative Opposition Premier: Laram Psirt
Sedon Chider is a frequent guest columnist for "The Current", a Virgikep Newspaper. Born in Virgikep Proper, Sedon has had a long career in the Legislature. He is an advocate for what he calls the "Sonemic Republic", revising official positions in order to shed the "Imperial" Imagery and become a more internationalist, standard Republic. Sedon's is a devout Hadarite, and has promised to bring more religious equality to Graanid. Sedons is also an outspoken Nationalist, and has stated frequently that Graanid Business is not safe without a modern military.
---
Lothan Marphal - Conservative Incumbant Premier: Thobold Natylis
Lothan is the current Graan. He values the historical tradition of Graanid, and believes that sustainability is more important than any other issue. He has actively pursued international economic investment, which he has said is the best way to deter international conflict. However, it did not deter a border dispute with nearby Tarkanea, in which his Premier first Annexed the Takaanis territory, before the legislation was modified. Lothan is often characterized as an imperialist, though his policies reflect a modest yet intelligent, economic driven agenda.
---
Lyda Saans - Peoples Progressive Party Premier: Arek Moth
Lyda is an outspoken opponent to the incumbent economic policy. A Staunch advocate of economic protectionism, and a proponent of a progressive tax policy, Lyda is very popular among Progressive circles. She believes the biggest obstacle to Graanids future is the growing disparity of wealth among Graanids population.
---
Rorik Malthus - State Capitalist Party Premier: Berken Tagard
Rorik Malthus is an avid rabble-rouser around the seeming fringe State Capitalist Party. He believes that the Government only serves to interfere with the daily life of its citizens, and thereby violates its single most important law, which is to not mitigate or interfere with the rights of citizens in any way. Under this rationale, Rorik wishes to Privatize the government and replace it with a board of directors run by corporate executives, and hold the Government to a Corporate standard. He has expressed an interest in doing this legislatively, though many believe he will attempt to accomplish this by executive order if necessary.
---
Vin Thaman - Secessionist Party Premier: Korm Zyder
The Secessionist Movement has been slowly gaining momentum over the years, and has finally managed to get on the Ballot for executive positions. They feel that the provinces were illegally united, and would be more prosperous as separate, independent states. Vin Thaman's primary campaign focus has been on anti-imperialism and the dissolution of the central government.

EXECUTIVE RESULTS
Dark Blue: Sedon Chider Blue: Lothan Marphal Red: Lyda Saans Dark Red: [Peoples Progressive Candidate] Purple: Rorik Malthus Green: Vin Thaman
Lothan Marphal has won a second term!
LEGISLATIVE RESULTS
Blue: Conservative Red: Progressive Dark Red: Peoples Progressive Purple: State Capitalist Green: Secessionist
In Phinneas, the Conservatives lost 8 seats, but retain a 79% Proportion of the legislature, a super-majority. The Progressive Party picked up 5 seats, the Peoples Progressives picked up 2, and the State Capitalist party lost all 4 seats to the Secessionist Party.
In Virgil, Conservatives had significant losses, with only 57 seats compared to their 82 seat hold in the previous elections. Progressives gained 12 seats, the peoples progressive party gained 1, and the Secessionist Party finally gained 12 seats, the highest ever in the Virgilian Legislature.
In Rhea, Progressives suffered the greatest losses, with voters defecting to the Secessionist party whom they seemed to identify with more. The Conservatives picked up a measly 2 seats, the Progressives lost 26, the Peoples Progressive Party lost all seats but 5, leaving the Secessionist Party with 31, enough to be an obstacle in domestic policymaking.
In all, the conservatives now have 56% the cumulative legislative seats, leaving them significantly weakened from their prior position. The Progressives are resolutely following, with 25% and providing the clearest counterpoint to the Conservative majority. The real surprise in this election is the success of the Secessionist Party, now with nearly double the seats of the formerly solid Peoples Progressive party, with 13% of the seats to their 7%. The Political Landscape of Graanid is clearly changing, but the results are to be determined.
A more thorough analysis is coming from the Media, soon.
