Hello friend,

Welcome to the archives of Renatia Nova, the third edition of the epic roleplaying franchise created by -DS- in 2008.

Over the past four years hundreds of people around the world have joined together to participate in the art of world-crafting, of collaborative storywriting, and above all epic role playing in a play-by-post environment. This forum is one of many similar realms created entirely from the imaginations of its inhabitants, an impressive plethora of crafted nations that include cultures, characters, languages, maps, as well as a whole other assortment of data entirely up to the author to synthesize.

Nation-State Play-By-Post Roleplaying (NS-PBP-RP) remains a very entertaining, intellectually stimulating, and educational experience that leaves us wanting for more. Bar none the best part of the entire genre is the fan-base, the community, and the people I've met along the way in sharing our common interest.

Renatia deserves another chance. We all deserve the opportunity to relive the world we created. Check back soon for exciting news.

Sincerely,

Freeman

From: Rupert Griffiths, Minister, Head of Diplomatic Affairs; Meridia

Mt List,

On behalf of the Prime Minister I would be more than happy to accept your invitation. It seems that we have much to discuss, not only on the matter of Chernovia but also on that global state of affairs, and how our nations can best respond. Please forward details of possible meeting times that are appropriate and I shall choose the one most suited to my current schedule.

I wish to pass on my respect for your position on the Chernovian situation, as well as my hope that this will lead to open and amiable relations between our two nations.

Yours Faithfully,
Rupert Griffiths
Minister

"I understand." Namar said, looking reassuring as best he could. "Perhaps it would be best to postpone this meeting until the Chernovian crisis is resolved and the internal politics of Berovnia are at their conclusion. Graanid still has interest in doing business with your state, but during such times it is best to be patient and let circumstances play out. You are welcome to stay in Graanid as long as you wish, we would be happy to have you. But I am afraid I can not forecast when these issues will be resolved, and so If you wish to wait it may be some time."

"Thank you but if you will permit I think it pertinent to continue these talks, we have much to discuss especially with word of international mediation. I also think it wise to inform you that I have been chosen and approved by Parliament to take to position of Prime Minister until the end of Mr Kelvin's term. Politically speaking it would be nice to come away from this meeting with something concrete...at least so the Berovnian people can feel reassured that the right man has been chosen for the job. I am being completely honest with because, given our nations' positions and good relations thus far I wish to foster a firm friendship."

Namar was a little struck by the haste of the Berovnian government. "Well, uh, congratulations Mr. Prime Minister." Namar managed, as he tried to figure out how to deal with the forward diplomat. From Diplomat to Prime Minister in 30 minutes! It was hard to believe.

"But indeed, this Mediation will have many changes in store for Graanid. But what were you hoping for as far as something concrete and I will do my best to oblige."

"It comes as little surprise to me, constitutionally the situation is clear, the cabinet chooses the Prime Minister's successor who will fill his place until a new Prime Minister is elected. Efficiency is key of course." Griffiths was no fool, he detected the surprise and perhaps reservations of the Graanid and responded accordingly, "I'm hoping to come away with some form of investment deal. Berovnia's nationalised industries, power, water that sort of thing are always in need of fresh faces and investment. I worked, during my early career, in the Infrastructure department and I have a feel for what it needs. I am proposing we set up an educational exchange, you sponsor Graanid students to take up an apprenticeship or internship with one of our national industries, in a management or engineering capacity. They learn how such facilities work and earn valuable practical experience and of course you gain a ready trained and reliable flow of fresh young minds entering your workforce. Berovnia benefits by investing the sponsorship money back into the nationalised industries."

"Now of course I am not proposing exorbitant sponsorship fees, something around the mark of £2500 a year, the exact amount can be reviewed once all the factors are taken into consideration. It is a small thing but one I think that lays a nice foundation for future negotiations."

"An educational exchange sounds reasonable in and of itself, I might be able to agree to it. However, I do have some reservations regarding your nationalized industries. Graanid prides itself on its free market, and low government interaction within the economy. Teaching our youth in a system steeped in nationalization would be contrary to our policy, and potentially alter the future of Graanid in favor of similar policies. I would like to, instead, offer a more reasonable alternative. We offer mutual, matched incentives for students at our universities to study abroad in each others states, on a voluntary basis; and tariffs are reduced to encourage trade. This would allow our corporations to pursue their own investments. Does this sound reasonable?"

Namar was mildly annoyed at the nationalization, but given the similar general economic culture in the two states, Namar was hoping to at least get something. Berovnia could prove to be a key friend in Zyrra.
