Hello RRT. As your contract manager, I want to first thank you all for giving me this wonderful opportunity to play such a large role in putting money in your pockets (and the company's too - mind you!) Now, ANY input you want to give me, just lay it on me! I can accept constructive criticism because that's what makes people better (if they listen!) Also, I want to use this Office daily to recieve your input on possible contracts - I promise to check here at least twice a day, and well in advance of the midnight hour for bidding. Ok, I'll open the floor up to you all now. Happy trucking! |

Good, good... I see you are coping well with your new office. ![]() Soon, me and Jason will have a few rules for you... Don't worry, we trust you, we just haven't failed a contract yet, and we don't want to start. (And I promise you, we have been so close to failing a contract, we all about s**t our pants.) |

Oh yeah, it's a nice office, thanks a lot!!! It's ... empty ... but that should change here in the next few weeks ![]() Ok, rules are fine - they're definitely there for a reason I understand. Yeah that would be really scary coming close to failing a contract. In my previous company, we actually did fail a contract, but apparently the code wasn't working at that point so we never got penalized... it was pretty wierd... |

We thought we failed a contract... We were all like, so sad... but apparently.. Say we have one load left, and I picked up that load, and I started to go the the drop off, right? But, I don't make it there and the contract time is ended. APPARENTLY! If you have all the loads required to complete the contract picked up, they still count. That's how we didn't fail. We had enough tons on trucks headed to the drop off. |

Ok long time no see!! Here's some info for tonight's contracts, and the order in which I will be considering bidding: 1) Construction Equipment to Mexico City ----> Suppliers: El Paso (1161 miles) Minneapolis (2161 miles) ----> Pros: + So far little competition + El Paso is a company terminal + relatively easy completion (22 loads, medium distance) ----> Cons: - Both El Paso and Minneapolis stop supplying on Thursday ----> Final Verdict: A good contract to go for, since the only minus is possibility of losing a supply it's not as good. But in the end, if we get 15 loads or so in the first 3 days (doable) then get a far away supplier at the cargo change, then we can still do it. 2) Clothing to Dallas (yes... again!) ----> Suppliers: El Paso (695 miles) Veracruz (1127 miles) ----> Pros: + Cargo connection until at least next week + Clothing is a bonus cargo + Clothing is our company's preferred cargo + El Paso is a company terminal + Very easy completion (24 loads, short distance) ----> Cons: - Could be very competitive ----> Final Verdict: OK, so why isn't this the most important contract tonight? Well, personally, I think competition will drive this contract price too low. This is where your input is needed: I can change that preferrence to this contract if you convince me otherwise. All in all, it would be a very good contract to get, even if the price dips down to $1.75, then there are better options around the corner - but like I said, if you tell me, I'll go for it first. 3) Mobile Homes to La Paz ----> Suppliers: (3 closest:) Los Angeles (1001) Corpus Christi (1008) Houston (1198) ----> Pros + Relatively little competition (so far) + Many different suppliers, and also many that will stay suppliers until at least next monday + Easy to Moderate completion (25 loads, medium distance) ----> Cons - No company terminals - Not really a "con" but there's better fish to fry... ----> Final Verdict: The last "con" says it all. If the first two fall through the roof, then I'll go after this one. It's not bad, but it's just a 3rd option. Ok - time for all of your input.... please? |
